Story
Little Beau is a 10-year-old male rescue dog with a heartbreaking past, but despite everything he has endured, he continues to show resilience and a gentle, loving spirit. After suffering years of neglect and abuse, Beau is finally safe and ready to find the forever home he has always deserved. Since coming into rescue, Beau has received extensive veterinary care to address the medical issues caused by his difficult history. He has been successfully treated for heartworms and given comprehensive dental treatment. Due to severe dental disease all of his teeth had to be removed, so Beau is now completely toothless. Thankfully, he has adapted well and continues to enjoy soft foods, treats, and all the comfort and affection that come with being cared for. Veterinarians have also evaluated injuries to Beau's spine, including three damaged vertebrae believed to be the result of past abuse. While he has made significant progress with treatment and supportive care, he appears to have reached the maximum recovery possible. Because of this, Beau may always have some physical limitations and would do best in a calm, quiet home where he can relax and feel safe. What Beau loves most is simply being close to his people. He enjoys curling up beside you on the sofa and quietly soaking up affection and companionship. He also gets along well with other calm, low-key dogs who match his gentle energy and respectful nature. Beau is not looking for an active or chaotic environment — he is looking for peace, comfort, and someone who will love him for exactly who he is. One challenge that Beau's caregivers have not been able to fully overcome is his tendency to mark inside the house. Because of this, Beau wears a belly wrap and pad indoors to help manage accidents. His future adopter will need to be understanding of this ongoing issue and willing to continue this simple routine as part of his daily care. Beau handles it well, and for the right person, this small extra effort is far outweighed by the love and companionship he offers in return. Despite everything he has been through, Beau still has so much love to give. He deserves a compassionate adopter willing to offer patience, understanding, and a soft place to land for his golden years. In return, Beau will provide loyal companionship, quiet affection, and the inspiring resilience of a dog who never gave up hope. Story
PLEASE HELP!Ella was adopted about 8 years ago from an animal shelter as a puppy. I was in college at the time and she was for my sister and I. Ella ended up moving in with me and now I have a toddler. Ella does not like to be messed with and is not ok with her feet and back hips being touched. We are not able to give Ella the attention she deserves anymore. Ella is used to being able to roam around the house and being home at least 8 hours a day alone. She freezes up when around other dogs. She would do great in a home with no kids or older kids that know to not touch her paws or hips. She loves to lay on the couch! She does not do well in a kennel. It is getting almost impossible to keep Ella and my toddler separate. We keep them separate for their safety.
