Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Maddie is a 6yo female rat terrier mix who is being surrendered by her owner in Memphis who can no longer care for her. Maddie is very affectionate with her people and loves to be close and cuddle. Medium activity level outside, calm inside. She’s fine with other dogs and living happily with another dog in the family. Good with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older.  Fine with cats. Housebroken but never crated because she doesn’t need to be. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with her people.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 45 pounds.  Here’s a note from Maddie’s foster mom:  Maddie is as loyal as they come, sweet, affectionate, loves to cuddle and be close to her people. Loves a comfy spot with a pillow. She doesn’t know how to cover herself with blanket/sheet but does enjoy it if you cover her when it’s chilly (fan on, breeze, etc.). If bothered during her slumber, she may growl like a grumpy old lady but just tell her to “hush!” HA! Does not beg for food and will (very happily!) sit for treats & is gentle taking them. She needs to have you within eyesight when she’s eating her food. Known to take one of my shoes to lay with when alone. When left alone, she’ll mind her business and nap, but will definitely be awaiting your return! She’s good taking baths, likes ice cubes (so don’t worry about picking up any you drop!), bully sticks, and LOVES small squeaky toys To adopt please fill out an adoption application.Contact us at reply@gooddogrescue.com  visit us at Good Dog RescueSeptember 12, 2025, 7:06 am

Story
Elio is a 4 month old male Rat Terrier mix who has already shown incredible resilience for such a young pup. He has already been altered and weighs 13 lbs. Elio’s story is a sad one — he was found in the woods with his mother and sister when he was only six weeks old and had already suffered a broken leg. Although surgery was attempted, it didn’t heal as hoped, and his leg was amputated in October. But that hasn’t slowed him down one bit! Elio is thriving and full of spirit, happier and more playful than ever. He loves other dogs and kids and is ready to bring joy and inspiration to his forever family! Elio is neutered, fully vetted and microchipped. Our pups come with one month of free pet insurance when you adopt. If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://packleadersrescue.com/adoption-application/

Peter aka Pedro is a 3 yr old male Terrier (maybe some rat terrier..who knows) about 12 lb . He is a semi energetic dog that love humans and likes other dogs his size (esp his Chi foster brothers/sisters) and LOVES humans (esp snuggling on human couch or human bed). He loves dog beds, doggie blankets, dog harnesses and clothes. He is a great companion for active person or just retired couple with a securely fenced yard that like small dogs.. He will be okay with small dog polite children (over 12 yrs of age) or no children. Small dog experience is recommended. He is an indoor dog. He likes walks and car rides L & S Dog Diggity Rescue is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. Story
Welcome 4-year-old Bowser to CCPAL Rescue. Bowser is a Rat Terrier mix. We think he is mixed with Dachshund. He is adorable and weighs about 11 pounds. He is good on a leash and knows the sit command. He is lower on the shedding scale. He would be a great walking companion. He has lived in a home with small children and did great. We would like all the children to be 8 or older. He is very affectionate and liked it when Colin held him today. He can run very fast and he comes when you call. He is good with other dogs, even when bigger than himself. He isn’t over vocal and will bond deeply to his human. Many people love the Rat Terrier breed because of their loving nature. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. He is getting his vaccines topped up and will be ready for his new forever home as soon as we find his placement. We think a moderately active family would be best. He is loving and cuddly but will need a yard to play in or a walk daily to get his exercise in. He is a Rat Terrier so he will have fun checking the yard for rodents. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Porltand, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Meet Lucky, a sweet and spunky 2-3 year old neutered male rat terrier mix, weighing about 15lbs.  Lucky is a friendly, loving boy who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids. He likes cats but he does chase them, so a cat free home (or one with dog savvy cats) would probably be best for him. He would also LOVE a fenced in yard of his own, as he loves to run and get his zoomies out!  From Lucky: “My name is Lucky, I am a happy and very loving Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix. I get so happy when I see you I will jump straight up three feet like I want to land in your arms. I am quick on the uptake and I learn quickly.  I love to walk on the leash and will get very excited when you get my leash and harness. I am also as quick as a jack rabbit and enjoy a fenced in yard so I can get my zoomies out! I love to eat and exercise, I am very healthy! I love to go anywhere with you, and if you have another pup, we both would love to ride along.  I do have a few quirks, I am nervous transitioning from one floor type to another, like a wood floor to a tile floor. I also have a little trouble crossing thresholds, ramps or stairs at first but with some encouragement, trust, patience, and time I do get it and I am okay. I am working on the potty thing, I do well with a routine but sometimes I forget to ask to go out.  That’s me, a gem in the making and with a little more polish and patience from my human we can be forever pals. I think when I was a pup I didn’t get much attention and all this learning to be my best I am learning now. So, I would love to meet my human if they want to meet me, I’m sure I won’t let you down.”  Lucky is medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (he does great with a routine, occasional accidents when not kept on a routine). Apply to meet this special boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2313572##
