Story
Meet Thor!Thor is a 8 year old, Neutered Male, Rat Terrier mix!Thor and his brother, Lucky, arrived to our shelter as strays and sadly they were not reclaimed. Both of them are medium sized dogs, under 30 lbs. They are typical seniors, not in much of a hurry, would love a comfy couch to spend the rest of their days on! Both Lucky and Thor could benefit from a dental cleaning and may have some arthritis. They still get around great and love going for leisurely walks. Both of them are quiet, we haven't heard them bark even once since they arrived! These two boys love each other so we've decided they should be adopted together. Thor is more confident and outgoing than Lucky, but still a quiet and sweet boy. Lucky and Thor will be low maintenance dogs and are looking for a loving and understanding retirement home. Visit our website to fill out the adoption application: https://bit.ly/HSofMacombadoptionapplicationIf your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. We cannot place puppies/dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.All Humane Society of Macomb animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested and microchipped.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Irving AVAILABLE FOR: Adoption/Pawsitively Sure Trial Adoption BORN: January 2018 SEX: Male BREED: Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua Mix WEIGHT: 13 lbs. MARL ARRIVAL: Stray BACKGROUND: Meet Irving! Irving is a charming Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix with a sweet, gentlemanly personality. He’s spry and loves to stretch his legs, whether that means a nice walk, a little zoom around the yard, or simply trotting alongside you wherever you go. Irving truly enjoys spending time with people and would love a home where he can be part of the fun and soak up attention. He’s the kind of pup who’s happy to be your sidekick—especially if there’s a cozy spot nearby to relax after an adventure. And don’t be surprised if he politely hopes for a treat or two in between… he definitely appreciates the finer things in life! If you’re looking for a friendly, active little companion with great manners and an even better heart, Irving is ready to meet you. COMPATIBILITY: Based on our evaluation, we feel that Irving has the potential to get along with other dogs. Irving would do best in a home without cats. MEDICAL NEEDS: Irving has tested positive for heartworm and is currently receiving treatment. His treatment includes a course of oral antibiotics and a series of injections, all provided and covered by MARL. We’re hoping Irving can enter a foster-to-adopt home during this time, with all treatments scheduled through our vet at MARL. Once his treatment is complete, we can finalize his adoption. ADOPTION FEE: $250

Sweet Elsa is one of the girls from the "frozen litter" that was surrendered to rescue at 6 weeks old. We were allowed to spay her mom before returning her to her family. Both parents are under 15lbs. She is a spunky little girl now looking for her own family. She has been completely vetted and microchipped. She is pee pad trained and just started house training. She will need a family that is will to continue to work with her training and understands puppies can be a lot of work. She will make a wonderful addition to any family. Story
--FOSTER PUPDATE--Cartman A18317820 lbs. neutered male, approx 8 monthsThis sweet boy is going by Jack in his foster home! - Jack didn't have an easy start to life, and he came into foster needing lots of TLC. You'd never know by his personality though, as he's such a happy and loving boy. - Medium energy guy, and most of his day is spent sunbathing or snuggling with his foster friends. He is 100% a lap dog whether its human or other pups. - Very affectionate boy who likes to snuggle on the couch, and is happy just to enjoy your company - Great self entertainer and plays with his toys. He's also happy to share with his friends - Snacks are the way to his heart, and who can blame him! He is still working on gaining weight, but he's not complaining about the extra helpings. - Loves the company of other dogs, and would do great in a home with other fur siblings. Slow intros always recommended. - Has not been cat tested, but shows no prey drive to small animals in the yard - Doing great with potty training. About 99% consistent, just working on fine tuning having him tell you when it's time to go out. - Crate trained, and will often go in to hang there on his own when he's decided it's bed time - As with any puppy, he'll need continued time and training to be the best boy he can be!*Can be adopted solo, or with his sister MarshThis pet is in a foster home! If you are interested in meeting Cartman, please email foster@friendsofdacc.org with subject line “Cartman A183178”Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adoptThere is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, and $40 for cats payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.
