Story
Irving AVAILABLE FOR: Adoption/Pawsitively Sure Trial Adoption BORN: January 2018 SEX: Male BREED: Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua Mix WEIGHT: 13 lbs. MARL ARRIVAL: Stray BACKGROUND: Meet Irving! Irving is a charming Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix with a sweet, gentlemanly personality. He’s spry and loves to stretch his legs, whether that means a nice walk, a little zoom around the yard, or simply trotting alongside you wherever you go. Irving truly enjoys spending time with people and would love a home where he can be part of the fun and soak up attention. He’s the kind of pup who’s happy to be your sidekick—especially if there’s a cozy spot nearby to relax after an adventure. And don’t be surprised if he politely hopes for a treat or two in between… he definitely appreciates the finer things in life! If you’re looking for a friendly, active little companion with great manners and an even better heart, Irving is ready to meet you. COMPATIBILITY: Based on our evaluation, we feel that Irving has the potential to get along with other dogs. Irving would do best in a home without cats. MEDICAL NEEDS: Irving has tested positive for heartworm and is currently receiving treatment. His treatment includes a course of oral antibiotics and a series of injections, all provided and covered by MARL. We’re hoping Irving can enter a foster-to-adopt home during this time, with all treatments scheduled through our vet at MARL. Once his treatment is complete, we can finalize his adoption. ADOPTION FEE: $250

Sweet Anna is one of the girls from the "frozen litter" that was surrendered to rescue at 6 weeks old. We were allowed to spay her mom before returning to her family. Both parents are under 15lbs. She is a spunky little girl now looking for her own family. She has been completely vetted and microchipped. She is pee pad trained and just started house training. She will need a family that is will to continue to work with her training and understands puppies can be a lot of work. She will make a wonderful addition to any family. She is fostered in Knoxville TN, but transportation to a location near you is provided by Rescue Riders LLC and is included in the adoption fee.

Story
What can I say, I`m alot in a small package. I am very friendly with people. I am not a fan of small animals. My prey drive is strong and I cannot be tempted by the likes of a cat or small dog, my instincts kick in and well...we don`t need to say much more. I do require a fence for that very same reason, plus, I`m very high energy-I need the room to run without such distractions. I ran with a pal before I came here, she was much bigger than me. So if you have a 4 legged friend larger than me, maybe we should meet and see if we are a match made in heaven? What say you? If interested please complete an adoption application found here: https://www.elkcountryanimalshelter.org/adoption

Story
"You wanna live with a Cinnamon Girl, you can be happy for the rest of her life with a Cinnamon Girl"! Inspired by the classic Neil Young song, Arietta is a stunning girl with beautiful cinnamon coloring on a white base and expressive chestnut eyes. At just 1 year-old, she is a vibrant, adventurous soul looking for her furever home. Arietta is the definition of "small, but mighty." Weighing in at only 13 lbs., she is an intelligent, funny, and curious girl who maintains a joyful and puppy-like energy. Whether she is romping through deep snow (no matter how cold it is!) or waiting with barely contained excitement for mealtime, she is always ready for action. Arietta has the cutest prance and moves about the house and yard with a happy facial expression. Darling! She is remarkably athletic and fearless, sometimes running through the house with reckless abandon. She is adept at climbing and jumping and isn't yet leash-trained because of winter weather obstacles, so a very secure backyard fence and gate are a must! She has a fierce prey drive, if it moves, she wants to chase it! Because of this, she cannot live with small companion animals (including cats). Likely an outside dog in her past life, Arietta recently has made huge strides in house-training. While she is finally getting the "knack of it", she still requires a regular schedule of potty breaks to ensure her continued success.  She is an excellent, alert watch dog, but is not a nuisance barker. She will let you know when someone or something is there, then settles down quickly. Arietta is a social butterfly in the canine group, for sure. She bonded with her foster sisters almost immediately and sleeps and plays with her "rattie" roommates. She would be happiest in a home with at least one other doggie companion, no matter how large or small, and someone who is home most of the day. Arietta is a "paws on the ground" kind of girl. She is hand-shy and does not like to be picked up and held. While she has recently started trusting her foster parent to pick her up, it takes time and a gentle touch and coaxing to earn that privilege. Because of her handling preferences, she is best suited for a home with adults and respectful older children who understand she is not a "lap dog" to carry around. She does enjoy sitting by your side on the couch or chair or sleeping next to you under the covers. She will jump up on her own into the chair or onto the bed. Arietta does well in a crate overnight, but much prefers sleeping with her doggie and human friends. Arietta is ready for her next chapter. If you are looking for an adventurous, loving companion, you could be happy for the rest of her life with a "Cinnamon Girl"! For photos and some snow bunny videos of Arietta visit her online photo album at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/arietta  If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Nitro is a sweet boy. He is blind and heartworm positive. We have him on slow kill for the heartworm due to his energy level and not being able to keep him calm. He loves to play with other dogs and kids. He bosses around the other dogs so he needs dogs that will allow this behavior. He would love a home that he can be his spunky self and just love on his humans. He likes to cuddle and play with his toys. Nitro is crate, house, and leash trained. NO CATS!! ##2558243##
