Story
Koda was born 10-24-23 and weighs 34 pounds. His mom was a small, black Rat Terrier and dad is an unknown rolling stone.  He has a kind of laid back temperament and takes everything in stride. He loves attention and will stay beside you for pets as long as you will give them. He came to us because his mom got sick and could no longer care for him. He does pretty well on a leash and was previously house trained. He gets along fine with other dogs but has never been around cats. Koda has also been around children young to older with no issues. He should do well with most any type of family. Koda is neutered, microchipped and current on shots, heartworm and flea prevention. If you are interested in adopting, please submit our application at Richardsonrescue.org. That is also our most current site to see if a baby is still available. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 18, 2025, 10:30 am

Story
Jules was born around October, 2023 and only weighs around 30 pounds. Her mom was a rescued Rat Terrier that was already pregnant. So, dad is unknown. This little gal has a very loving and sweet temperament. She can be a little shy when she meets you but we can do anything in the world to her with no nippy issues. She loves other dogs and spends her days here running and playing with the other dogs. Her mom's health declined to the point that she couldn't care for her anymore and so she came to us. She was previously house trained and we are working with her on a leash and she is catching on fast. She should do well with any active family as she loves to run and has been around children with no issues. This little smiling girl is such a cuddle bug.  Jules will be spayed, microchipped and current on shots, heartworm and flea prevention. If you are interested in visiting or adopting, please submit our application at Richardsonrescue.org. Story
Gizmo was born November, 2023 and weighs around 30 pounds. His mom was a small rescued Rat Terrier that was already pregnant so, dad is unknown. This boy can be shy on first meeting but he has such a loving heart. We can do anything in the world to him with no attitude or nippy issues. His mom faced health issues that limited her ability to care for him anymore. He was house trained and we are working with him on the leash. He is catching on pretty quickly. He gets along great with other dogs and we let him run and play with small and large dogs here. He has never been around cats and we have no way to test here. Gizmo has also been around children with no issues. He should make a loving addition to any active family because he loves to run. Gizmo will be neutered, microchipped and current on shots, heartworm and flea preventions. If you are interested in visiting or adopting, please submit our application at RichardsonRescue.org. Story
I’m Frito, a rat terrier mix who is looking for a new chapter in my young life.I’m a small, energetic guy, about 23 pounds, and people say I’m spunky and funny. I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services. My estimated birth date is May 2022.I need some time to gain trust when I meet new people. But once I get to know you, I really show you the love!I’m a very good leash walker, and I know “sit.” I have a side job at HSYC modeling costumes, too!I need to be the only pet in my forever home, and I would do best in a home without young children. If you’re interested in a smaller pup with an energetic personality, let’s meet!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
Bolt My name is Bolt named after Usain Bolt. You guessed it I am fast just like the Olympic sprinter. It is amazing I am so fast because I have an injured pelvis. Because of this injury I have had nerve damage and lost feeling in my back end. This means I cannot pee and poop like a normal dog. My foster family and vet are working with me to see if there is some things we can try. Currently we are trying out some medications to see if we can get me to have control of my functions. We are not sure if they will work but we want to try. I am such a cute boy and very loving. I get along with the other dogs in the home. I think I am in charge of the much bigger dogs because my whole six pounds are filled with determination. I am still a puppy but have gotten over a lot of puppy behavior like chewing and biting. I weigh almost 7 lbs and need to put more weight on. I am crate trained. Currently I wear a diaper most of the time. I do not love it but put up with it to make everyone happy. I am very smart and want to do the right things when asked. I love humans, my crate and soft beds. In my foster home the other dogs think I am to fast to play with but I try to play with them. Maybe they will come around. I am looking for a home where someone will love me for me. No one know how I got injured but it was not my fault. I deserve to be loved and have a loving family like all other dogs. If you have room in your heart and lap and couch please give me a chance. I will pay you back with lots of love. If interested in giving me a forever home, please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org.November 5, 2024, 12:12 am
