Story
Bolt My name is Bolt named after Usain Bolt. You guessed it I am fast just like the Olympic sprinter. It is amazing I am so fast because I have an injured pelvis. Because of this injury I have had nerve damage and lost feeling in my back end. This means I cannot pee and poop like a normal dog. My foster family and vet are working with me to see if there is some things we can try. Currently we are trying out some medications to see if we can get me to have control of my functions. We are not sure if they will work but we want to try. I am such a cute boy and very loving. I get along with the other dogs in the home. I think I am in charge of the much bigger dogs because my whole six pounds are filled with determination. I am still a puppy but have gotten over a lot of puppy behavior like chewing and biting. I weigh almost 7 lbs and need to put more weight on. I am crate trained. Currently I wear a diaper most of the time. I do not love it but put up with it to make everyone happy. I am very smart and want to do the right things when asked. I love humans, my crate and soft beds. In my foster home the other dogs think I am to fast to play with but I try to play with them. Maybe they will come around. I am looking for a home where someone will love me for me. No one know how I got injured but it was not my fault. I deserve to be loved and have a loving family like all other dogs. If you have room in your heart and lap and couch please give me a chance. I will pay you back with lots of love. If interested in giving me a forever home, please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org.April 21, 2024, 12:08 am

Story
Lil Kangaroo has a name that suites him to a T!  This little guy is tenacious in facing some hard things in life and we find him to be spunky and courageous  Adding to this courage, he is also a confident, intelligent boy that has endured the hard times when his human family could struggle no longer and keep him. He was reluctantly surrendered to our rescue.  What we have found is a wonderful dog and and we have delighted in see what a truly beloved boy he is.  This dog would fit in anywhere, anytime, anyway.  Lil Kangaroo is a 2 year old, 27 pound Jack Russell mix boy that is living in a foster home with two big foster fur brothers that don’t have anything ahead of Lil Klinger.   He can and does run with the best of them. He’s housetrained, loves car rides, happily accompanies his foster dad on his long walks and the active adventures his human dad loves to go on.  This boy, Kangaroo loves to explore and live life to the fullest with lots of new experiences. He embraces all the new things and enjoys playing with his toys and is ALWAYS ready for playtime.  If you are looking for a couch potatoe then Klinger would qualify only on short term moments.  He is a great and active breed that makes a wonderful family dog that you will spend time with and actively seek the exercise time that he needs.   He would be a wonderful dog for a  young family, young couple or a  young single person that is a runner, an explorer and a dog owner that might even want to do some agility activities together.  Of course Kangaroo is neutered , UTD on all vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm prevention with a clear fecal and wormings done. We admit, we are partial when it comes to Lil Kangaroo. He is one of the cuter and definitely the nicest small dog you could find or consider for your life partner. Don’t let this one get away!  If you are interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let’s start this ball rolling for his new forever committed home and family. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 27, 2024, 1:06 pm

Story
My grandparents have had Princess since she was a puppy. She quickly mastered house training and adores the outdoors. Playtime is her favorite, yet she's just as content cuddling all day. Having accompanied my grandparents on trucking trips, she's well-behaved in the car. She's obedient and stays vigilant, making her an excellent companion while you're away, with her loud bark signaling her alertness. Princess is great with children and knows to be very gentle when playing. She has no separation anxiety and is comfortable being left alone. Loud noises like fireworks don't faze her. While she gets along well with other female dogs, she may need some time to adjust to male dogs. Princess is up-to-date on vaccinations and preventive care, and I recommend gradually introducing her to new environments and routines in her new home to ensure a smooth transition. Sadly my grandparents are older now and cannot care for her, I am hoping to find her a new loving home.

Story
Carmella is a 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who is a very sweet girl and is looking for a new family who will love her and take care of her. Carmella came to the rescue and immediately gave birth to 11 littles! Carmella has been the best mom, and while we can tell this was not her first litter, but it will be her last. Carmella is a very sweet girl, who seems to be house trained. We are not sure if she is crate trained. She is great with other dogs and likes to be around people! Carmella is ready to start meeting people but cannot go home until April 5th.  Carmella will make a great addition to any family; however, she has not been tested around children, but based on her demeanor, we can’t imagine any issues. Carmella’s 11 littles will not be available for adoption until April 21st, and they are little sweeties and not a one has her coloring! If you are interested in adopting Carmella, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.*** April 27, 2024, 9:44 am
