Story
This bouncy, enthusiastic youngster is Colby. At 1 year-old he may technically be an adult, but he has the spunk, curiosity, and playfulness of a puppy. He loves playing with toys of all kinds, cuddling with whoever will offer him a lap, and engaging with his people in numerous ways-- like taking walks, learning new skills, and sitting on your back when you are trying to do pushups (adding 20 lbs. to your workout). New people, unexpected noises, and novel objects nervously excite him, which he'll initially express by barking. But once you give him assurance and he settles down, he accepts the new experience and broadens his world. New dogs may also cause him some excessive excitement in the beginning, but after respectful introductions, he is eager to welcome the new dog into his friend group. While Colby may be a bit of a wild child when it comes to scattering his toys all over the house (including some things he mistakenly misappropriates as toys), he is always gentle, accepting of handling, and takes correction well. His day-to-day house training is pretty good but when his routine is thrown off--like having newcomers in the house--he sometimes reverts to feeling the urge to mark. Fortunately, he is very accommodating about wearing a belly band, and generally keeps it completely dry. We do not know how Colby would do with cats, but he has a high prey drive when it comes to birds and squirrels, so caution is advised.  This personable little man simply loves affection, is enthusiastic about sharing your space, and very much wants to be a lap dog. You can see lots more photos of him in his web album at https://imageevent.com/beales/fosters/colbyIf you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Snap is a bundle of energy…until he’s not. He pretty quickly transforms into a lapdog cuddle-bug. He is a 2 year old Rat Terrier & has a lot of puppy in him & he has a big desire for you to tell him he is a good boy. He is a dog for the people, less so for dogs. Don’t get me wrong, he is friendly with most dogs, but he is a bully to others. To be specific, he turns into a ninja who talks a lot of crap he can’t back up when big…really big dogs are around. He has gotten more tolerant to being the smallest dog in the room and generally, pays more attention to me than he does any of the dogs. Snap is the kind of dog that will, with enthusiasm ,ride along with you in the car, follow your every step outside, and then come inside and curl up on the couch to watch a Lifetime movie. He’s down for any adventure but he will sleep in as long as you do.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
See Courtesy Posting Disclaimer * Radar is 7 months old as of 7/23/2024. He is neutered, heartworm-negative, up to date on vaccinations, and housetrained. He is a rat terrier who looks like the photos of a Majorca ratter. One look at his ears will tell you where he got his name! Radar's foster home is located in Concord, NC. This good boy is very smart and very loving. He knows how to sit and stay. He likes to shake paws, play fetch, play ball, dig in the dirt, and run! He loves the water and loves to play in the water hose. He also likes to watch animals on TV! He likes his harness on when he goes for a ride-- it seems to make him feel more secure. As he is still a puppy, he tends to chew through his leashes, so a metal leash works best. Radar is afraid of paper bags and loud noises inside, but he's not afraid of thunder or firecrackers outside. He is of a type that is bred to hunt mice and rats, and consequently he has a high prey drive and can't be trusted around small animals. Since he was rescued, Radar has not been tested in very many situations with people and other animals. He likes to play ball with some neighbor kids, but he has not been around small children. He behaved well at the vet's office where there were people and other animals. His current foster home is not active enough to give him the exercise, training, and socialization he should have. He needs an active family to give him some training and lots of play time. He is so smart that he might be able to train as a service dog. The bottom line is that Radar is a really good, young dog who needs a best friend and a loving and active forever home. He is also a gorgeous dog whose photos do not do him justice, with his sleek coat and beautiful reddish-brown highlights. Please text Loni at 865-282-7846 or email uneekseven@gmail.com if you want to meet Radar and give him the good life he deserves. Story
Hi, I'm Lucky, a 4 yr/ 7 month old, 13 lb., very sweet and loving lobby dog at the shelter. A few of my favorite things are kids, other dogs and even cats. I'm a fun, active, "up for anything" guy that can't wait to find my forever home. Lucky would do best in a home with another dog, having come from a home with several other dogs. He's housebroken, loves adventures and can't wait to meet you. A home with a high fenced yard is needed for this active, inquisitive pup. he can jump fences. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

East TN, Out of state not an option unless you can come to Athens TN. Sharon Weiss's Story Meet Sharon Weiss. She and seven others have come to us at Pet Path from a serious hoarding situation out of Bradley county TN. They were not socialized with people at all but we have gotten them to come a long way. They now come for a few scratches and scratches. They love to come inside to sleep in their crate and be out all day. We just had to give each of the seven jacks super fun names to go with their super fun personalities. So she is Sharon Weiss because it’s always someone else fault. It’s never her fault. If you don’t know about the Marie Calendars pie situation a few thanksgivings ago you owe it to yourself to check it out on social media! She’s actually very shy and just sort of hangs back to see what everyone else is doing before she proceeds to do anything or allow petting. She is really not so much a misfit we just think the names are fun. This little gal is begging to trust and be loved. She’s silly and sweet and will blossom in a home of her own. She came from a hoarding situation with several others and has taken some time to adjust to human interaction but she has come a really long way. She is not fond of being picked up but she does come close enough for booty scritches and scratches. She will also. often give you kisses. She is a Jack Russell mix with what we aren’t sure. She is very curious about everything and likes to know what’s going on and be in the center of it all, all the time. She will need a fenced yard and she may be a flight risk ant first til she knows you. She will need to be monitored when opening doors that are not leading out to a fenced yard area to make sure she does not escape. She’s a great gal that needs someone to give her time and patience to learn her new home and routine. She is crate trained and will sleep through the night. She does very well inside and will not potty unless you don’t let her out often enough she doesn’t quite know how to tell you she has to go potty but she does prefer to do it outside. Be sure you know the breed as Jacks are highly energetic, mischievous and can be devious little pups but they are also wonderful companions. That are also excellent rodent control. Forget the cat get yourself one of these and they will eradicate any vermin you may have. We have seen them do it and they are relentless about their job. Any of these girls would be happy on a farm if they have dog companions. Adopt two of them for maximum entertainment! Apply at petpath.org
