See Courtesy Posting Disclaimer * Radar is 7 months old as of 7/23/2024. He is neutered, heartworm-negative, up to date on vaccinations, and housetrained. He is a rat terrier who looks like the photos of a Majorca ratter. One look at his ears will tell you where he got his name! Radar's foster home is located in Concord, NC. This good boy is very smart and very loving. He knows how to sit and stay. He likes to shake paws, play fetch, play ball, dig in the dirt, and run! He loves the water and loves to play in the water hose. He also likes to watch animals on TV! He likes his harness on when he goes for a ride-- it seems to make him feel more secure. As he is still a puppy, he tends to chew through his leashes, so a metal leash works best. Radar is afraid of paper bags and loud noises inside, but he's not afraid of thunder or firecrackers outside. He is of a type that is bred to hunt mice and rats, and consequently he has a high prey drive and can't be trusted around small animals. Since he was rescued, Radar has not been tested in very many situations with people and other animals. He likes to play ball with some neighbor kids, but he has not been around small children. He behaved well at the vet's office where there were people and other animals. His current foster home is not active enough to give him the exercise, training, and socialization he should have. He needs an active family to give him some training and lots of play time. He is so smart that he might be able to train as a service dog. The bottom line is that Radar is a really good, young dog who needs a best friend and a loving and active forever home. Please text Lori at 865-282-7846 or email uneekseven@gmail.com if you want to meet Radar and give him the good life he deserves. I’m an 11 year old spayed Rat Terrier looking for a home now that my mom has passed away. She loved me so much giving me pets and treats (pig ears and chew bones). I’d like a home where I can go in and out with a fenced yard.  My new people should be loving and kind like mom.  I’ll probably like their pets too if small like me.   I live outside most of the time; I like it but also have stayed inside before too when too hot or cold.  I love my winter jacket; so cozy. I could use some refreshing on potty training though.  Since mom passed I’ve been with my human sister. She loves me but those big dogs she has tend to run over me sometimes and push me around. I like her cats and they play with me too.  I’m ok around horses and goats and never paid much attention to them. Not reliable around chickens , I’ll sometimes pick it up and play around with it pretty rough.  I’m current on rabies and vaccination.  Heart worm positive and on medication and monthly Advantage multi preventative topical.   I’m a sweet dog, love affection and like to be with my people. Like kids and to play with them. Suggest kids that understand to not be rough with me; don’t want to be accidentally hurt or hurt a small kid. I like to eat when I want (self-feeder) and like an egg cracked over my food. Mom gave me her country cooking leftovers on my kibble sometimes and it was special. Think of me for an addition to your home. Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters. The application is the first step. SOOOOOO how many people remember Starsky and Hutch?? Probably not too many! But if you DO, please don't prejudice us with the "wildness" of our namesakes'! OK, we are a LITTLE wild and cute cute cute! Found in a neighborhood together at about 2-3 months old, we could have had a very different life.... however, we were found by a couple of high school boys who immediately drove us to the rescue to see if they would help at 5pm on a Friday evening. AND IT WORKED!!! We are a couple of cute boys, we are barkers and that is part of the breed- Rat Terriers are busy and smart and active and they bark! We are cute when we bark though :) We do not have to be adopted together, although we love each other and have been together our WHOLE lives.... but we can be adopted apart. We may be nervous at first if adopted separately but if you follow the 3/3/3 rule, it will take us time to adjust in our new home anyway!! (you will find a copy of the 3/3/3 rules in our medical record if you adopt one or both of us) We are waiting for the right family/families to come along and we hope that we find you or you find us soooonnnnn!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Jake is probably about 3 years old. His father was a full blooded Rat Terrier and his mother was a Rat Terrier/ Jack Russel mix. He is a very good/sweet dog and loves to hunt and chase critters. I moved way out in the middle of no-where about 10 years ago so I could let my dogs run free. Unfortunately there have been a couple of people move in close to me and they don't want my dogs on there property. I have 13 total Rat Terriers and I need to find homes for about 10 of them. Some of the dogs are good squirrel dogs. The father of Jake was the best Squirrel dog I've ever seen.
