Story
Meet Kruzer! Some dogs spend their lives waiting for the right person. We think Kruzer has waited long enough. At 8 years old, Kruzer is everything people say they want in a dog. He’s gentle, easygoing, great with other dogs, cat-friendly, walks beautifully on a leash, and absolutely loves being around people. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just wants to be included in your day, Kruzer is your guy. When Kruzer arrived at the shelter, he was heartworm positive. He faced treatment like a champ and has now completed it successfully. After all he’s been through, he’s finally ready to find what every dog deserves—a family of his own. Kruzer isn’t looking for anything fancy. He doesn’t need endless adventures or a huge backyard. He just wants a soft place to rest, someone to love, and a home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by kindness. The funny thing about dogs like Kruzer is that they get overlooked. People walk past because of the gray on their muzzle or the number beside their age. But those who adopt a senior dog will tell you the same thing: they’re some of the very best dogs you’ll ever meet.l Kruzer has spent years learning how to be a good boy. Now he just needs someone to give him a chance. Have other pets? Bring them along for a meet-and-greet! ##2609969##

Story
"Give me your unconditional love. The kind of love I deserve, the kind I want to return."(Donna Summer) April showers brought about these May flowers. This litter of 5 puppies along with their mom Crossandra, are among the group of 12 dogs came to New Leash on Life when their dad went to assisted living and no one could care for them. Since we did not know their names, we chose to name them after beautiful flowers and are ready to take root and bloom. As you can imagine, they have been through a lot recently and may need time to adjust in their new environment. They enjoy getting attention once they are comfortable. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, have age-appropriate vaccines, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. If you are looking to add to your family, you can adopt one of the Dachshund Dozen into your heart for $150. **All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside-especially at night. No dog is allowed to be put on a "tie out" or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced in yard.**

Story
Cranberry is a happy, friendly 2-year-old rat terrier mix with a huge zest for life. She eagerly greets each day ready for plenty of active play. She loves catching thrown balls (and bringing them back!), engaging in games of tug, zooming around the yard (particularly if another dog will play chase with her), and going for leashed walks. Since she is athletic, agile, coordinated, and fast, with excellent recall, we think she'd probably excel in canine sports. But her gusto is balanced with a gentle, mild-mannered nature and a love for snuggling with her person and calmly chewing her toys or napping on the sofa. She weighs a sturdy 29 lbs., so she could potentially be a bit overwhelming for smaller dogs willing to wrestle with her, but she is respectful and deferential to other dogs, letting them call the shots. She does very much enjoy the company of other canines (and cats) but it's people who really light up her eyes and warm her heart. She greets strangers like old friends and treats her trusted people like they're the greatest thing in the world.    Cranberry is reliably house-trained with nice house manners--although she is still working on not jumping up on people in excitement and kissing their faces without permission. She is seeking adoption by an active household with a fenced yard (required) and a routine that gives her plenty of opportunity for exercise, mental stimulation, and physical affection. If your lifestyle matches Berry's, please check out her photo album at  https://imageevent.com/beales/fosters/cranberry   to see lots more photos and some videos of this darling gal. Story
Imagine driving down a rural country road on the way to pickup groceries, when out of the brush comes 2 walking Halloween skeletons.  That is what  Benjamin and his partner Olive looked like when we took them home.  Benjamin is a sweet JRT mix that is about 2 years old and weighs 27 lbs. He loves to play and destuff all of his stuffed animals. When his energy runs out, he will snuggle next to you on the couch. He is a smart boy and will keep you on your toes. Benjamin is learning house manners and will stay in a crate. Benjamin walks well on a harness but beware of squirrels. Because of his high prey drive, absolutely no cats!!! A fenced yard is highly desirable but not a necessity. he can always go out on a leash but never off leash when not in  fenced yard .      If you love the energy and personality of a jack russell, then benjamin, we'll check all the boxes that you are looking for.  Please email critter cavalry rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.    please inform us where you live, city and state since we R based in Tennessee. But we do transport out of state to the northeastern corridor.      ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com.June 10, 2026, 12:22 pm
