Story
Hi, I’m Kipper (the big little gentleman) Hello there! My name is *Kipper*, and I’m a 25-pound Jack Russell–Rat Terrier mix with excellent manners and a very serious love of snacks. If you have a treat, I will sit like the most distinguished gentleman you’ve ever met. I don’t rush greatness. I’m about six years old, very smart (not to brag… but also yes to brag), and I really listen when my people talk. I like understanding what’s going on — it helps me be the best boy possible. My favorite things:• Racing and wrestling with my little brother, Spike• Corn-cobbing his neck (it’s how I show love)• Sniffing adventures and pretending I’m on an important hunt• Lap time and cozy TV watching• Being told I’m a good boy (accurate) I can be a little cautious when meeting new people, especially men, but once I know you’re safe, I am loyal, affectionate, and deeply devoted. I take my job of loving my family very seriously. I came from a home where we were very loved, but our mom got sick and couldn’t care for us anymore. Right now we’re staying with our stepsister, but her big dogs think they run the world… and honestly, they do. So my brother and I are hoping to find a calm home where we can stay together. Because here’s the important part:I don’t just come with a personality — I come with Spike. He’s my teammate, my wrestling partner, and my favorite little guy in the whole world.   Meet my little brother, *Spike* (certified sweetheart) This is Spike, my 10-pound sidekick and professional kiss-sneaker. He’s about four years old and a bit shy at first, but once he trusts you… surprise! You’ve been kissed. Spike is very expressive. When we go outside, he tells the entire universe how excited he is. He loves:• Racing me like it’s the Olympics• Pouncing with dramatic flair• Sniffing absolutely everything• Rolling in grass like it’s a spa treatment• Quiet cuddles and lap time• Being near me (he pretends it’s for protection, but I think he just loves me) He’s gentle, sweet, and very emotionally intelligent. If you’re having a soft moment, he will be right there for you. Like me, Spike can be unsure of strangers at first, but he warms up with patience and kindness. We both crate beautifully together — we rest when it’s quiet time and save our fun for walks, meals, and playtime. We are curious about cats and would probably try to chase them, but truly we’re just little explorers at heart.   Our promise We love each other deeply. We nap together, play together, and watch TV together. We share a crate, share adventures, and share comfort when things feel new or scary. If you open your home to us, you won’t just get two dogs. You’ll get:• A gentleman and his tiny best friend• Built-in entertainment• Loyal companionship• Double the cuddles• A ready-made family We’re looking for a foster or forever home where we can stay side by side — just the way we’ve always been. If you have a lap, a little patience, and maybe a treat… we’re already halfway in love with you. Love,Kipper (and Spike, who says “Hi” and would like to kiss you now) Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters. The application is the first step. Pleae complete the adoption (or foster) application here: https://www.russellrescuetn.com/application-for-adoption/You will be contacted if further information is needed.  We are 100% volunteer powered. Story
Gentle, quiet, unassuming Brie tends to play second fiddle when there are more assertive, confident dogs around. She craves her share of interaction but is quite shy about asking for it, and when the others get too rowdy, she will just take herself off to a quiet spot for a nap. Even when other dogs aren't nearby, Brie is hesitant about seeking out attention, often cowering and flinching in uneasiness when someone looks directly at her or reaches toward her. But once she is settled in your lap or next to you on the sofa, she melts into your arms, clearly loving the closeness. She will relax into your arms, delighting in the pats and rubs, with no anxiety about being handled. Although she is 8 years-old, Brie doesn't seem to have gotten much training in her past, as she doesn't respond to common verbal cues (e.g. "sit" and "come"), walk confidently on leash, or "ask" to go outside. She does promptly "go" when she is taken out but nevertheless has indoor accidents, so she need a firm schedule with frequent opportunities. Other than inconsistent house-training, she is extremely well behaved and super easy to care for. This little 15-lb. gal is seeking a quiet home without a lot of commotion, where she can live out her dream of being your best snuggle buddy and closest confidante. Please check out more photos of her in her album at  http://imageevent.com/beales/fosters/brie If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Our mama is a tiny little thing — a Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix weighing just 20 lbs — but we were some BIG babies when we were born! We’re already tipping the scales at around 5 lbs each, so we’ll likely grow into wonderful medium-sized pups. What we may lack in size, we make up for in sweetness. We absolutely love attention and will happily soak up all the cuddles you’re willing to give. Kisses? We’ve got plenty to share! Playtime is one of our favorite times of day. Crinkle toys are at the top of our list (that sound is just too fun!), but honestly, we aren’t picky — if it’s a toy, we’re in! We love to romp, bounce, and then curl up for snuggles once we’ve worn ourselves out. We’re ready to bring love, laughter, and a toy basket full of fun into someone’s life. Are you that someone? Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
