Story
Shug was rescued from a shelter about 10 years ago. He joined our other 2 dogs (mini rat terriers). We loved on all of them. Shug watches TV and enjoys the sunshine on our back porch in our laps. He needs to be better house-trained, but we love him. We are 88 years old and moving to Assisted Living in February. We cannot take Shug with us as he would need to be walked outside and we won't be venturing outside much (I use a walker and my husband has Alzheimer's). The decision to give him up hurts so badly, but we don't have another option. Please adopt our Shug and give him a loving home!

She is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for her forever home.Lupita is a confident, funny little dog with adorable quirks that will keep you smiling. She is very affectionate and loves being on your lap or carried around—she fully embraces her inner diva. She does well with other dogs of all sizes, though she is definitely the dominant dog and prefers companions who respect her leadership. She's definitely a boss babe. She is not a fan of cats and she does enjoy a good chicken chase.Lupita is very playful with medium energy—she enjoys enthusiastic playtime followed by immediate, contented naps once her person sits down. She may even tell you when it's time for you to sit down! She tends to pick her person and becomes deeply devoted, while politely tolerating others.She is best suited for a home without young children and would do best with adults or older children who understand dog boundaries.Lupita is house trained (only a couple accidents when we didn't understand her signals), sleeps quietly through the night snuggled in bed, and does not need (or like) a crate. She is well-behaved when left alone for short periods, but she is still a puppy so there is a need to keep her toy box stuffed so she chews on those things you want her to chew on. Meet Lottie — our extra-special senior girl!!This is Lottie. After spending 8 wonderful years with her family, she was surrendered to Russell Rescue when her care needs became more than they could manage. Now in her golden years, Lottie is looking for a soft place to land and someone who will love her for exactly who she is.Lottie is around 12–13 years old and has the floppiest ears and the cutest little walk. We’ve recently learned that she is both blind and deaf, and she also has food allergies that require a specific diet. Yes, that means Lottie has some special needs — but it also means she’s incredibly deserving of a patient, compassionate human who sees the beauty in giving a senior dog comfort and dignity for whatever time she has left.Despite her limitations, Lottie still enjoys the simple joys of life: mealtime (her favorite!), sniffing around outside, and curling up in her crate for cozy naps. She gets along well with other dogs (mostly just ignores them) and would do best in a calm home without small children. She appreciates gentle wake-ups and soft pets — kindness goes a long way with this sweet soul.We know Lottie isn’t for everyone… but maybe she’s exactly for someone out there. If you’ve ever thought about opening your heart to a senior with special needs, Lottie will repay you with quiet companionship and so much love.Lottie CP has a good temperament and has always been great around children. She is getting older and needs a bit more attention with regards to getting outside for potty breaks. We are sad that due to medical and other lifestyle changes in our lives; we are no longer able to take care of her. Lottie is about 10-11 years old and a healthy 18#. She would love to have a mature family that loves the easy life.
