NOW ACCEPTING ADOPTION & FOSTER APPLICATIONS: URSA Those ears. That sweet face. Those soulful eyes. Meet Ursa, a beautiful tricolor girl with striking black, tan, and white markings and adorable pointy ears. We believe she may be a Terrier/Dachshund mix, and she's looking for a patient person willing to let her shine. Ursa was found wandering alone in Waller County and was brought to safety through Waller County Animal Control. While we don't know what she's experienced in her past, it's clear she's still learning that people can be trusted. She is a shy, gentle girl who is timid around new people and loud environments. Her foster says she's not mean at all—just fearful and cautious. Because of this, Ursa would do best in a calm, quiet home with no small children. Ursa's Dream Home: Older couple, retiree, or single person Quiet household No small children Patient humans who will let her adjust at her own pace Dog Friendly Cat Friendly Small Breed Mix Looking for a Foster or Forever Home The best things in life are worth waiting for, and Ursa is the kind of dog whose trust will be one of the greatest gifts you'll ever earn. ##2753410##

Story
Most of humanity remains under investigation. The evidence is not encouraging. Wednesday would like it known that she did not volunteer to be available for adoption. Unfortunately, the humans insist that finding a forever home requires something called “marketing.” Wednesday believes trust should be earned, personal space should be respected, and strangers should be viewed with a healthy amount of skepticism. She is not interested in reckless optimism, unsolicited touching, or people who think every dog wants to be immediately scooped up and cuddled. She prefers to conduct a thorough investigation before deciding whether you are worthy of her attention. Some may call her cautious. Wednesday prefers “appropriately suspicious.” She does not give permission lightly. Touch her without consent and you may find yourself becoming the missing part of Thing. Fortunately, those who earn her approval discover a loyal companion hiding beneath all the judgment. Wednesday enjoys quiet company, cozy naps, and keeping a watchful eye on everything happening around her kingdom. She is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with her people and takes her responsibilities as household supervisor very seriously. Wednesday is currently accepting applications for permanent staff. Successful candidates must provide comfortable sleeping arrangements, appropriate snack distribution, and an understanding that trust is earned, not demanded.

Disclaimer: The information in this profile reflects observations made while this dog has been in our shelter environment. We strive to describe each dog as accurately as possible; however, behavior and needs may change once the dog is in a new home, routine, or environment. Our dogs are not freeroaming in homes. When we note that a dog is "potty trained," this refers to reliable crate training, not confirmed freeroam house training. Accidents may occur during the transition to a new home, and additional training should be expected. All dogs are examined by our veterinarian, are spayed or neutered if old enough, and are up to date on ageappropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. We share all known medical information, but we cannot guarantee future health or rule out underlying conditions. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.happyfacespetranch.org Once your application has been approved, a representative will be in touch to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog based on the dog's individual needs. ##2776457##

Story
Breed:   Rat Terrier/Chihuahua Mix?Gender:  MaleAge: Size:Good with:  Dogs and taking long naps in your lap Meet Walnut , a beautiful brindle Rat Terrier mix with a sweet soul and a very important mission in life: to be a lap dog at all times. Walnut may put on a little shy act when he first meets someone new, but don’t let him fool you—this handsome boy warms up quickly! Before long, he’s ready to show you his affectionate side and claim his favorite spot: right in your lap. Once he’s comfortable, Walnut’s curious nature really starts to shine. He enjoys exploring his surroundings, checking things out, and discovering what the world has to offer. But after all that important investigating, he’s more than happy to return to his favorite human for some quality cuddle time. He’s the perfect combination of sweet, curious, affectionate, and just a little bit shy—at least until he decides you’re his person. Then, prepare yourself for a permanent lap companion! Walnut is looking for someone who will appreciate his gentle nature, give him a little time to settle in, and happily accept his offer to become their personal lap dog. Beautiful brindle coat? Curious explorer? Sweet personality? Professional lap dog? Absolutely! Walnut is ready to warm his way into your heart—and probably right onto your lap.
