Name: Cooter Breed: Treeing Walker CoonhoundSex/Age/Weight: Male/estimated DOB 03/2019/67lbsVetting: neutered, current on all vaccines, microchipped, and on Heartgard/NexgardHouse trained/Crate Trained: yes/yesDogs/Cats/Children: good with most dogs, good with cats, and good with all aged childrenEnergy Level: averageBefore FAR/My History: Spent most of his life chained to a tree- now spends most of his days on a couchSpecial Notes: Cooter is a 6 year old neutered male Treeing Walker Coonhound. Most of his life was spent on chain until being rescued in December 2022. He is NOT a trained hunting dog. Overall, he is a great dog and could make a great addition to any family! He’s great with all aged children, behaves well with most dogs, and is good with cats. Cooter is fully housebroken, loves to snuggle, and has lots of personality! He knows exactly when it’s dinnertime and will even bring the food bowl to you when he’s ready to eat! Weighing in at 67lbs, he’s a dog that requires a lot of space to RUN! Currently, he is being contained with an invisible fence but has managed to escape several times to chase neighboring cats. He is in a home with 2 cats that he doesn't find all that interesting anymore but does occasionally chase them. He is heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and is on monthly heartworm preventative & flea/tick control. If you are interested in giving Cooter a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer.
