Story
We can't wait to see Clyde lounging comfortably on a sofa of his own, snuggled next to his affectionate and devoted humans. This beautiful, gentle boy and his sister Bonnie have been on their own for far too long, running stray on the rural highways of northwestern Ohio for several months, growing increasingly emaciated, and too scared to allow anyone to bring them to safety. They both had to be humanely trapped and have found a loving, safe foster home with the kind folks who worked so hard to get them safe. Clyde and sister Bonnie are doing so well now—they’ve slowly and steadily gained weight, are eating without the desperate voraciousness we first observed, are now up to date on vaccines, negative for heartworm and tick-borne illness, and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventive. Both also have been fixed and microchipped. They are awesome dogs, good-natured and gentle, who have gotten along well with other dogs, cats, horses, and strangers. They both still are easily frightened by any new stimuli in their environment—loud noises, for example--but are getting better every day. They love attention and long walks. In a perfect world, Clyde and Bonnie would find a home together. If that's not possible, another dog in the home is desired. A physically fenced yard is preferred. Clyde is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. April 18, 2024, 5:46 am

Bonded duoThese boys just recently lost both their parents; the adult kids dont want them and said they have to go! The kind neighbor has been taking care of them but is on a time crunch before the house is closed down before the sale. She shares that these two boys are absolutely the sweetest things and wants to see them go together. Story
Sugar Bear is about 50 lbs, 3 yrs old and great with other dogs.  She is currently enrolled at the prison for training and will remain there until we find an approved adopter. She is spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for heartworm, has been wormed, and is microchipped. Her handler states: that she is learning her basic obedience quickly, is great with other dogs, super sweet, has ok leash manners but they are continuing to work on that.   Anyone interested in her must contact the shelter directly to schedule an appointment to meet her.
