Story
Dixie is a sweet, almost 10-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/hound mix with wonderful manners and a calm, people-loving temperament. She's fully potty trained, knows all her basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, come, and more), and enjoys nothing more than being close to her family. Her favorite things include gentle attention, exploring outdoors, and soaking up the sunshine. She gets along well with other dogs and cats in the home, though she isn't especially playful with them and prefers human companionship. Dixie is active and happy to go for walks or runs, spend time in a fenced yard, or relax outside, but she'll always choose being indoors with her people when they're home. She maintains a healthy 55 lbs and eats standard dry food at her own pace. Dixie is up to date on all care, including her rabies vaccine, which is valid through 2027. She does experience some separation anxiety and can become stressed in boarding or vet environments, so she prefers to not be left alone for hours.

Story
Dani is about 1.5 years old. She loves walks, treats and snuggling on the couch. She is smart and motivated to learn, very attentive to her owner and very responsive to praise. She is a quiet girl, doesn't bark at passersby. When meeting new people she is sweet and chill. I think she would do really well with someone who is dedicated to giving her regular exercise, structure and routine. I adopted her in August and am finding that my life is too busy to provide her with the latter two. While she loves every person she meets, she is not comfortable with other dogs. She was quite dog aggressive when I first got her. We have been working on this and she has improved quite a bit, but will need the new owner to continue working with her. We can go for walks now and pass other dogs without incident. Overall, she is a loving, affectionate dog and would make a lucky new owner a great companion.
