Story
RJ is here through no fault of his own. RJ is 3.5 years old, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is 54 pounds and unfortunately heartworm positive. RJ came in with Birdie so we know he likes female dogs so far. This guy looks so sad in the shelter but we have had multiple volunteers tell us how sweet he is. One volunteer last week said: "RJ is a a total sweetheart! This sweet boy is very nervous being at the shelter and won’t be the dog who greets you at his kennel. You’ll find him tucked in the corner, curled in a ball trying to disappear. However, if you sit with him and give him all the pets, he’ll warm up to you and show you those sweet puppy dog eyes. He is very affectionate and might even try to sit on your lap! He’s a little unsure of the outside world at the moment, but with a little encouragement he’ll walk right along side you. He walks great on a leash and will stick right by your side, but load noises and fast movement make him a little skittish. I have no doubt that with a little time and lots of love, RJ will be the best companion to a lucky person/family!" RJ is $60 to adopt. We are open Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. 1710 S Main St, Stillwater OK. Go to the glass door that says Animal Welfare!

Wendy is about 3 years old. She is smart and savvy. She’s sweet and pretty chill. She’s been an outdoor dog but kenneled at night in the shop building. She has seasonal allergies to grass mostly but a shot of cytopoint seems to work for her for the summer.

Meet Rosie Rosie is a striking, high-energy girl we believe is a Catahoula Leopard Dog. She’s built for action and loves to run, leap, and play. Athletic and powerful, she’s happiest with room to move and a job to do. Rosie is amazing with people—gentle, affectionate, and unbothered by just about anything. You can even put your hands in her mouth—she’ll just nudge them out with her tongue. She loves cuddles, squishes, and being close to her humans. She’s got a strong alpha personality and a high prey drive, so she’s not a match for small dogs or other small animals. However, she could do well with other large dogs who can handle her energy and play style. Ideally, she’d be in a single-dog home where she can be the center of attention—or with a confident big dog who speaks her language. Rosie listens well, bonds fast, and is tough, loyal, and full of heart. If you’ve got the space and energy for a powerhouse cuddlebug, Rosie’s ready to be your shadow.

You just hit the dog jackpot! To limit Pheobe to just a bio will never do her justice — this girl is PERFECT. If you’re looking for a best friend who’s out of the puppy phase and comes fully trained, she’s your girl! • Potty trained • Knows basic commands and listens extremely well • Great on a leash • Can be trusted to roam the house day and night with zero issues • Very calm disposition, but can be playful and loves a daily walk • Top-tier snuggler • Great with cats • Great with all dogs And the list goes on. Pheobe has been the biggest joy in her foster home and is said to be, by far, the easiest foster they’ve ever had — and they’ve had a lot! She adjusts to routine quickly and truly gives you no problems. Pheobe typically pays the other animals in her foster home no mind at all and prefers to hangout with her human or sun bathe by herself outside. That being said, it does not seem like Pheobe is currently looking for a furry friend to play with and would likely do best with a dog that respects her space. Her initial introduction to her new siblings should be taken at a respectful pace. She has done wonderful with the 4 other dogs and 2 cats in her foster home, she’s patient with them and minds her own business! Pheobe is looking for a family who will snuggle her day and night (preferably on the couch or in your bed), take her on occasional walks, play with her during her rare but adorable bursts of energy, give her a backyard to sunbathe in, and most importantly — give her all the love. In return, Pheobe promises to never chew your things or potty in your home. She promises unconditional love, endless snuggles, and plenty of laughs. This girl is so special and is going to be someone’s soul dog.
