Story
Currently at foster home in Pickering, Ontario. Background: Guzzi was rescued from a dog meat farm in Ganghwa, Korea, alongside 50 other dogs in December 2022. She lived at our boarding house with other dogs until she left Korea. Curerntly, she lives with another dog in a foster home in Pickering, ON. Personality and Socialization: Guzzi is a calm, gentle girl with a medium energy level. Initially a bit shy, Guzzi warms up quickly with a little patience. She has a gentle, laid-back nature and has been a well-behaved girl at the boarding house. Once she gets to know you, she becomes very friendly and affectionate. She enjoys being around people but isn’t demanding—when left alone, she waits patiently and remains calm. She gets along well with other dogs, particularly those with a friendly and easygoing nature. She’s respectful of boundaries and understands when another dog needs space, waiting patiently without pushing. Guzzi has not been tested with cats or young children. Behavior and Training: Indoors, Guzzi is quiet and well-mannered, making her an easy companion. She handles car rides, vet visits, and even baths with patience—though she may feel a little nervous at first, she looks to her humans for reassurance. On walks, she follows her humans well but may feel a bit nervous in unfamiliar environments. With her affectionate and trusting nature, Guzzi thrives in a calm environment where she feels secure and loved. Health and Diet: Guzzi is in good health—she’s fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped, with clear parasite tests, including heartworm. She takes monthly parasite prevention and eats dry kibble twice a day with no known allergies. Ideal Home: Guzzi’s gentle and adaptable personality makes her a good fit for many types of homes. Whether she’s the only dog, or part of a family with another canine companion. She would love a home where she can enjoy leisurely walks and cozy moments with her family. Having waited two years for a place to call her own, Guzzi is ready to begin her new life. After surviving the cruelty of the dog meat trade, she deserves the warmth of a loving home where she will be cherished. Whoever adopts this loving girl would be very lucky. Story
📍Jelly is currently in Markham waiting for his forever home in Ontario. [Background] Jelly is one of the 21 brave dogs rescued from a dog meat farm in Anseong, Korea in spring. Visit link for details: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/anseong-dog-meat-farm-rescues/ He lived with other dogs at our partner boarding house until he left Korea. Jelly is looking for his forever home in GTA, ON. [Personality and Socialization] Jelly earned his sweet name because he truly embodies it. With his loyal, friendly, and affectionate nature, Jelly loves being around his people and will follow them everywhere, keeping a close eye to ensure they are always in sight. He is a huge cuddle bug, loves to shower you with affection, and listens intently when you are talking to him. When it comes to other dogs, he’s selective—he gets along well with some, but not all. He can be dominant, jealous, and protective at times, so it’s best for Jelly to be the only dog in the home where he can feel secure and get all the love and attention he needs. [Behaviours] Jelly is smart and a fast learner. His food motivation and eagerness to please also help greatly with training. He has learned to sit, lie down, and be still while his foster trims his nails. He also knows how to put his chin in a hand and is learning how to smile and hold a treat on the bridge of his nose. Jelly is house-trained although he sometimes uses indoor peepads if needed. He will let you know when he needs to go outside to potty by patiently sitting in front of you and staring into your eyes. Once he has your attention, he will lead you to the door to be let out into the backyard. In the mornings, he will gently nudge you to know he is ready to go out. He sleeps through the night with no issues. He’s also easygoing during bath time and will patiently let his human do pretty much anything. [Health and Diet] Jelly is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He takes monthly preventatives for both internal and external parasites and enjoys a diet of kibble twice a day, with no known allergies so far. This healthy boy is ready and eager to find his forever home. [Ideal Home] Jelly would do best with someone who has experience with dogs and understands how to communicate with them. He would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can receive all the love and won’t feel the need to compete for attention. He would also thrive in a home where people are around more often than not, as he does not like to be separated from his humans for long periods. A perfect match for Jelly would be someone who loves spending quality time with their dog and is excited to continue guiding and learning alongside him. In return, they’ll be rewarded with Jelly’s sweet, loving, and loyal companionship—and his unwavering affection. 🔗Apply to adopt Jelly through link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/jelly-2/
