I’m Sage, and I’m looking for a family to call my own! My story started with a pretty heartbreaking chapter. My mama’s owner passed away, leaving her and all of us puppies behind. Thankfully, we’re getting our chance at a fresh start, and now I’m ready to find the family I’ve been waiting for. ❤️ As for my breed, we’re thinking Catahoula x Australian Shepherd x Blue Heeler… but we have absolutely no idea who Dad was. He could’ve been any of the above, all of the above, or the neighborhood mailman’s dog for all we know! 😂 One thing’s for sure: with those possible genetics, I may come with a little extra brains, energy, and personality! I’m a social, outgoing, smart little pup who’s ready to take on the world. I love interacting with people, exploring new things, and being part of the action. I’m not the kind of puppy who’s going to be happy just looking cute on the couch all day (although I will absolutely excel at that part, too). I’ll need an active home that understands working and herding breeds and the importance of mental stimulation. I’m Rio, and I’m looking for a safe place to land and a person who will show me just how wonderful life can be. ❤️🐾 My story is a little heartbreaking. My owner passed away, leaving me behind with my six puppies. Thankfully, some kind neighbors stepped up to care for us until Hay Dude Rescue could take us in. I’ve spent my time being a mama, looking out for my babies, and doing my best to survive. Now it’s finally MY turn to be taken care of. I’m about 2 years old and weigh around 55 pounds, which makes me a perfectly sized companion for someone looking for a medium-sized best friend. I’m a beautiful girl with a heart of gold, but I’ll be honest with you: I’m a little shy when meeting new people. I’ve spent time as a street dog, and when you’re trying to survive and protect six little puppies, you learn to be cautious about the world around you. I’m not an aggressive girl; I just need a little time to figure out that you’re one of the good ones. I do best when people let me approach at my own pace instead of expecting me to be best friends five seconds after meeting. Give me patience, kindness, and a little understanding, and you’ll start to see the real Rio emerge. ❤️ And let me tell you, once I get comfortable? I’m actually pretty funny! I have a silly side that comes out when I feel safe, and it’s such a joy to watch my personality blossom.
