ALMOST ONE YEAR OF WAITING… WHY NOT LUCY?! Meet Mama Lucy, the girl who keeps getting overlooked but NEVER stops trying! Nearly ONE YEAR. That’s how long Lucy has been waiting for someone to see what we see in her. Once upon a time, Lucy was a devoted mama raising her puppies. She watched them find their forever families, one by one, while she stayed behind. And somehow, almost a year later, this beautiful girl is STILL waiting for her turn. But Lucy hasn’t spent that time sitting around waiting. She’s been putting in the WORK! She’s been working with a professional trainer to build her confidence and social skills. She’s going on regular adventures outside her foster home, exploring new places and experiencing new things. She even attended one of our adoption events and did GREAT! She’s making incredible progress and showing us more of her sweet personality every day! Is Lucy suddenly a fearless social butterfly? Nope! And that’s okay. New people and unfamiliar environments can still make her nervous. She’ll need a patient, understanding family willing to give her the time and space to feel comfortable. But the Lucy we see today has come SO far from the timid girl we first met! And here’s something important: Lucy does GREAT with other dogs! We believe she’d actually thrive in a home with another dog to help show her the ropes and continue building her confidence. Once Lucy trusts you, she’s an incredibly sweet, loyal girl who loves her people. She’s especially fond of her foster dad, and treats are definitely one way to win her heart!
