Meet Charlotte. Charlotte is only 5 months old, but this precious girl has already been through far more than any puppy should. One of our Animal Control Officers found Charlotte and quickly noticed she had a severe wound on her back. Once she arrived at the shelter, our veterinarian determined that the injury appeared consistent with a serious burn. We may never know exactly what happened to her, but what we do know is that Charlotte deserved better. She was immediately cleaned up and started on antibiotics and ointment, and thankfully, her wound is healing beautifully. Like all wounds, it just needs a little more time. At around 20 pounds, Charlotte is still just a baby with her whole life ahead of her. She's been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines. Now she needs something much more important... a safe home and a family who will protect her, love her, and give her the chance to grow into the amazing dog we know she can be. Meet Ace! Somehow, this sweet boy has found himself back where his story started. Ace was adopted from us a few years ago as a puppy, but unfortunately, his owner was moving and could no longer keep him. So Ace returned to MHS, ready to start the next chapter of his life. When Ace arrived, he was covered in fleas and had developed a skin issue as a result. But our team immediately jumped into action! We got those pesky fleas taken care of and started Ace on a treatment plan to help his skin feel healthy and comfortable again. We think Ace may be a Boxer mix, but honestly... your guess is as good as ours! What we do know is that he's a sweet, handsome boy who is ready to put the past behind him and find the family he's been waiting for. Ace is a little over 2 years old, weighs around 40 pounds, and is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.
