Story
Who is looking for a ham and a half? We got one for you! Meet Lucy, a goofy rottweiler who has found herself in the shelter system. Lucy will keep you laughing with her antics which include, wiggling all around, getting as close to you as she possibly can, and of course wet kisses! Lucy would make a great pet for any household needing some extra laughs. Apply now! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Zoie is a sweet, friendly little girl with a little bit of sass. . She enjoys being outside, playing with a couple favorite toys, and snuggling. Zoie plays well with the other dogs in her foster home. She would be happy as an only dog, but just as happy with a playmate with similar energy level Zoie is not overly energetic, but would like a home where she can lay outside to sun or just enjoy the outdoors. She does well in a crate while her foster parents are at work; she eagerly goes in for a treat. This little one is currently taking Levitracem once a day to prevent seizures. She had a cluster of seizures one day in March of 2024, and again in September of 2024. Zoie has also recently started taking Proin due to occasional incontinence while sleeping. She has had zero accidents since being on the medication. Zoie is a one of a kind, unique little girl. Once you win her heart, and trust you will completely in love with her.

Story
Unfortunately, due to my new job schedule I am looking to rehome my boy, Spike. He’s a 3 year old 55 pound Lab/Boxer/Am Staffordshire terrier mix. He’s neutered, potty trained, and listens well indoors. He loves to play and cuddle. He’s good with other animals, he’s lived with cats and been around dogs before. Spike is also a little shy and doesn’t like loud noises. He’s had all his shots and vaccines. I give him heartguard every month. He’s been very well taken care of. He was last seen at the vet in May. We just moved here from New Jersey a few months ago, so his main vet was at Wayne Animal Hospital in New Jersey and I’ve tried everything to make accommodations for him with my new schedule here in Illinois. $50 rehoming fee just to show you can pay for his food for the month (which I will be giving you a supply of as well as his toys, bed, and treats.)
