Story
Honey is my rescue pup. I rescued her around 9 weeks old thinking I was getting a Rottweiler, little did I know I was getting a mixture of Rottweiler and Doberman. She is the biggest softy and loves to play! Whether it’s running around with other pups or playing with her favorite toys she’s just the happiest thing in the world. It truly break my heart that I would even need to re-home her. Besides the AD-D in her she is a well behaved dog who is eager and motivated to learn. She’s been in my life for about a year and doesn’t hesitate to listen, due to very simple training. I unfortunately made an impulsive decision to get her as a 17 with lots of things going on. The plan I had for the future keeps changing and my future is very unfair for her. She truly needs to be with other dogs and some land to run around on. She loves kids and knows to be gently with them. I just want the best life for her and feel that it’s unfair for her for me to keep her, due to selfishness.

Story
♥️🐾ADOPT GYPSY🐾♥️ 📍 Located in Cincinnati, OH Gypsy may be petite at just 50 lbs, but her heart, personality, and enthusiasm are anything but small. This sweet red girl is full of love, curiosity, and playful energy. She has a knack for stealing hearts in seconds. Gypsy is super curious and leads life with joy and excitement. When meeting new dogs, she comes in hot with happy energy, think hugs, high-fives, and enthusiastic play. She does best with tolerant, playful large-breed companions who can handle her puppy antics and are equally happy to relax afterward. She would also be perfectly content as an only dog with plenty of attention and enrichment. With her people, Gypsy is an absolute snuggle bug. She adores human attention, has a special soft spot for her foster dad, and considers couch cuddles a top-tier activity. She’s affectionate, goofy, and always ready to make you laugh. ✨ What Gypsy Needs in a Forever Home: • A family willing to continue her training—she learns at her own pace and benefits from patience and structure • A playful dog sibling or a home where she can soak up all the love as an only dog • A cat-savvy home only—Gypsy thinks cats want to play, may chase if they run, and was deeply offended when a kitty once swatted her • Kids 15+, as she’s still very mouthy and full of puppy energy • A fully fenced yard for safe playtime Gypsy has adjusted beautifully to crate life and does great once settled into a routine. Her favorite nightly ritual includes winding down with a stuffed Kong, and she loves Nylabones for chewing and relaxing. 🩺 Gypsy does have a short history of seizures. She had one episode prior to rescue and has been seizure-free since starting medication, which she takes twice daily. She’s doing wonderfully and enjoying her best puppy life. Gypsy is truly a special girl who will thrive in a home that offers patience, consistency, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, slightly goofy companion who’s ready to blossom, Gypsy might be your perfect match. 📍 Gypsy is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Out-of-state adopters are welcome but must meet Gypsy in person to finalize adoption. 👉 Apply for Gypsy on our website: www.bluegrassdobermanrescue.org

Now accepting applications for Kitty. Please read FULL BIO before applying! ***Available AFTER 2/11 for adoption in the Louisville KY or Cincinnati OH area ONLY*** Kitty has healed beautifully from her heart surgery and is officially cleared to find her people. But let’s be very clear from the start… if you’re thinking “aww, my kids would love a cuddly puppy”… this isn’t the pup. Keep scrolling, friends. Kitty comes from working-line Dobermans and she takes that job description very seriously. This girl is extremely high energy, exceptionally intelligent, and needs a job at all times. She is not a couch potato or a snuggle bug, she thrives with structure, mental stimulation, and purpose. Kitty requires an adopter with Doberman or working-breed experience who understands the importance of professional training and is ready to enroll her immediately. This is not optional this is essential for her success. 🐾 Kitty Details🐾 •Born 10/7/2025 •Successful PDA Surgery completed at OSU 1/14/2026 •Does well with other large breed dogs •No cats or small dogs •Active Adult-only home strongly preferred (teenagers who truly understand her needs may be considered) •Physically fenced yard required •Working on potty training: she’s a little behind due to her earlier medical journey, but she’s learning Kitty is an amazing dog for the right home, driven, intense, and full of potential.
