Story
We got Maven a couple years ago as a teeny tiny puppy and were told he was a Dachshund. Due to how small he was, it was hard to tell. We took him home, and weeks later it became evident that he wasn’t a Dachshund (joke’s on us). We decided to keep him and give him a chance. He’s been a great dog. There are just a number of things that don’t make him the right fit for our family. With the right family, I think he would be an exceptional dog with a better life than what we can give him.

Story
UPDATE: Coco “Bean” came to BDR a few months ago, so overweight walking the neighborhood was too much. Today, the slimmer girl is now doing interval training with her foster mom. Her high prey drive makes way for hours in the yard squirrel hunting, she even try to climb the trees with her new figure. She will do better with similar sized dogs. This lady loves and demands cuddles and sometimes you can get a glimpse of a grin. ——————————- Coco is a stunningly beautiful fawn girl that is 8 years old. Her life has been spent being a Mama dog but now it's time for Coco to be spoiled. Her foster Mom says Coco is the sweetest girl she has ever had. Loves to lay in the sunshine. But like many dobies does not care for fireworks or thunderstorms. To soothe her during these stressful times she will carry around her foster Mom's shoe and that makes her feel better. Guess it's like having her puppies again. Currently lives with a very young dobie boy and she tolerates him for the most part. As you can imagine Coco isn't wanting to be bothered with a young pup too much, she has done that enough in life. Coco is looking for a family that wants to treat her like the queen bee that she deserves to be. A stroll around the neighborhood or just relaxing in the yard with her people will be her ideal day.

Story
UPDATE: We have had some time to get to know Tsunami (Tsu as his foster calls him) a little better and thought everyone would like an update on him. Anyone wanting a sweet dobie that is on the smaller side is missing out on this great boy. Tsu may be a little older than we first thought, more like 3 to 4 years old. He is more comfortable being in a crate (he came from a hoarding case) so that is his safe spot. He has been around a female dobie playing and did fine but once he is comfortable then his pushy puppy side comes out. He will do best with a dog that will tolerate this play style. He met a kitty and seemed more afraid than anything. May be some chasing at some point but didn't have any indication he wanted to hurt a cat. Tsu needs a patient family that wants to build up his confidence and show him how to be a dog. ———————- Tsunami came to our rescue from a shelter in the south, he was part of a cruelty case. We are not exactly sure how old he is but somewhere around 1 to 2 years old, however he has nothing but puppy energy. His foster says Tsunami is the sweetest boy and always smiling. His play style with other dogs is pretty rough so he will need a friend of his own size and willing to tolerate puppy play. No little dogs or cats due to high prey drive. From his rocky start he is now learning to be a well-mannered dog but still needs lot of patience and help with this. Obedience training will be a must. Taking a class with your new dobie family member is a great way to bond along with teaching him some manners. If you are looking for an energetic dobie boy that gives lots of love to his people, then maybe Tsunami is your boy. A physically fenced yard is a requirement. No little kids (at least 10 years and up) since he still has a lot of energy and needs someone to focus a lot of their attention on his training.

Story
Joey is a gorgeous three year old red Doberman that is docked with a great wiggle tail and butt and soft natural ears. He is an owner surrender and lived with another large dog and cat. He is acclimating to life at his foster and finding his own way. He is vetted and ready for his forever home. Joey is very sweet and relatively low energy and quite sensitive to new things and will do best in a home that is fairly quiet. In short, he will shut down if corrected harshly (e.g. yelling) and will take some time to trust and build consistent recall (walk away and he follows) but it will be worth it as he is a great dog. He loves cuddling. He enjoys running in the yard, eating, playing with toys and female Doberman at his foster and chewing on bones. He loves going on walks and has good leash skills. He was happy to meet friends when they visited the house. He is a watchdog and will bark to let you know if there is anything new or out of place. He is 100% housebroke and can be crated (not required). Joey will need a physically fenced yard. If Joey sounds like a good fit, please put in an application!
