Story
Meet Levi! He is a 1-2 yr old Rottie mix with the cutest face and sweetest personality. He is people friendly, dog friendly, walks great on a leash and is very smart. He knows how to sit, lay down and give paw. Levi is also a very good fence climber so he would do best in a home where he is taken outside on a leash or under direct supervision. Levi is available for pre-adoption meaning he can be released to an approved adopter following his mandatory neuter.

Story
Buster Brown was pulled from our local shelter 2 months ago. He's been in boarding recovering from his neuter and awful skin issues. He is a very powerful love bug! Strong and a bit hard headed. Prefer an adopter that has owned this breed before since he will need some extra care. He is protective of his food, but is doing better. He was very thin, starved and full of worms. Heartworm negative, about 4-6 years old. His adoption fee is $150. Save 1 Pet is a 501 (c) 3 approved charity committed to helping homeless animals. We don't have a facility (shelter) but work out of our homes to foster the animals until they find a forever home. Please be advised that for all adoptions, we will conduct reference checks, including veterinary references. Our adoption fee for dogs includes spay/neuter, heart worm check, current vaccines, microchip, worming and heart worm/flea/tick prevention. For dog adoptions, we do conduct fence verification. When adopting an animal, you will be asked to complete our Adoption Contract

Story
If you are interested in ROXIE or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. In addition to being beautiful, ROXIE is an amazing dog. She is smart as a whip and driven by love. She is the most appreciative dog her foster family has ever had. She melted in her mom’s arms the first night she got there, looking at her with the sweetest eyes and just saying thank you. She always aims to please, which will definitely make training easier and more fun! ROXIE adores children and is fabulous with other dogs! She shares her foster home with many different resident dogs. She has been excellent with all of them and is happiest when with them. Therefore, she will only be able to go to a home that has at least one other canine member. She saves all her love for dogs and humans leaving none left for kitty cats. Her forever home will not have feline family members. ROXIE is both house and crate trained. She is a good car passenger and walks well on a leash. She can be timid at first, but she warms up quickly. ROXIE is a loyal companion who is happiest when she is near her foster family. Woof River requires applicants to have rottweiler or other large dog experience in order to be considered for adoption. If you are lucky enough to have sweet ROXIE take a piece of your heart into her paw, she will hold on to it forever! Her adoption fee is $340 For an adoption application on ROXIE click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Thank you for choosing rescue!!

Story
Hi, I guess I need a bio… I’m Midge, the laziest pup you’ll ever meet! I know I look big but I act like an old cat. My favorite hobby is lying on the couch and trying to sneak into the trash can. My ideal day is waking up whenever I feel like it, eating breakfast, laying on the couch, eating dinner, and going to bed. My days are spent with my foster siblings of 2 cats, 2 small pups, and 2 other Rotties so needless to say I get along with EVERYTHING. I don’t do anything fast, but do like to play. My fosters say my only negative quality is that I require expensive prescription food for my GI issues. Are you looking for a bougie couch potato to fall asleep watching you play video games? I’m your gal! *Due to Midge’s GI issue she requires food that is prescription. This food will need to be purchased from the vet clinic her new family uses. The average cost per month is $125

Story
Mycroft here! While I look nothing like my momma, I am a bundle of love and companionship! You will find me right by your side! I have yet to meet a person or animal that I don’t love! Want a forever bestie that poses for photos? I’m your guy! Due to puppies needing socialization, we require adopters to have at least one personal dog at home. Playtime is the best. Adopters will also need considerable dog breed experience based on the puppies breed.

Story
My name is Irene. I was a momma dog at the shelter. My puppies have all grown up and gone to a foster home- now it's my time to shine. I'm great on a leash and enjoy neighborhood walks. When we go outside for a walk, I collect sticks and carry them as my prize. I really love toys and my favorite game is to grab a tennis ball, squeaky ball, or plush toy and fetch or be chased. Sometimes I entertain myself by chasing a giggle ball around-that's my favorite toy of all. I’m crate trained, but I like to take afternoon naps in my dog bed. My foster home consists of one other dog, and we love to play together. I would do great in a forever home with other dogs or the queen of my own castle.
