Story
My name is Irene. I was a momma dog at the shelter. My puppies have all grown up and gone to a foster home- now it's my time to shine. I'm great on a leash and enjoy neighborhood walks. When we go outside for a walk, I collect sticks and carry them as my prize. I really love toys and my favorite game is to grab a tennis ball, squeaky ball, or plush toy and fetch or be chased. Sometimes I entertain myself by chasing a giggle ball around-that's my favorite toy of all. I’m crate trained, but I like to take afternoon naps in my dog bed. My foster home consists of one other dog, and we love to play together. I would do great in a forever home with other dogs or the queen of my own castle. Story
Cleo is approximately one year old. She had FHO surgery a few months ago after she was hit by a car and brought in injured to the local animal shelter. We rescued her after the shelter sent a plea. Cleo is a sweet girl that can be a little shy at first. She loves people and other dogs. She does love her foster mom and her mom's 14-year-old son. Cleo is in a foster home with multiple dogs. She is house trained, and crate trained. Cleo walks well on leash, but she can get overwhelmed in crowded areas. Cleo loves to cuddle on the couch with her foster mom or with one of her doggy foster siblings. She loves toys, play time and naptime! Cleo has completed training with a 5 star rating at The Champion Farm. Good girl Cleo!

Story
Melody is a one to two year old Rottweiler/german shepherd mix. She weighs 70 lbs. This is a gentle giant! We were alerted to this dog by code enforcement who was checking on a non occupied home and discovered this mama dog and her 8 pups were still living at the home. Mik, Mariah and Norma are the three pups we have from her. Melody is a calm, well behaved dog. She loves children. Unfortunately she is heartworm positive but we plan to treat the heartworms as she completes her pretreatment meds. This is a great dog for someone who likes bigger dogs with calm and gentle demeanor. Her adoption fee is $300 and includes heartworm treatment. Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption Application  Back in July, a sweet young black Lab mix was rescued in Memphis just before she gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies. The father, of course, is unknown but from the pups’ appearance is believed to be a Rottie.  Mamma Dog has long since been adopted but a couple of her pups are still awaiting their forever families… including Siri. Siri is a 7 month old female Rottie/lab mix. She’s very gentle and sweet, a little shy with strangers but warms up quickly. Good with other dogs and living comfortably with 2 other dogs in her foster home.  Not cat tested yet. Loves kids and recommended for children 10 years and older.  Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house.  Housebroken and crate trained. Loves to be with her people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Estimated DOB is 8-3-23.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 25 pounds.  Sweet young Rottie/Lab mix will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for a family who loves the breed. To adopt please fill out an adoption Application Contact us at reply@happydogrescue.org  visit us at http://www.happydogrescue.orgMarch 27, 2024, 3:04 am

In addition, our coordinators offer as much information regarding the medical and behavioral and personality characteristics as is known to our organization. Without them, and our extremely generous donors, we would not be able to save as many animals as we do every day. With each adoption, we operate a Pay It Forward program, whenever possible, to help other animals in our rescue and future animals in need. If you are interested in one of our animals, please complete an application. The application link can be found on our Petfinder homepage under the picture. You may also find our application on our website at www.petmatchmakerrescue.com under the Adopt page. If they are listed on our website, their adoptions have not been finalized yet. That does not mean that we have not received several applications, already. Please complete an application if you are interested and we will keep you apprised of their current status. We are all volunteers that work full-time jobs, so please be patient with us. We will get back with you as quickly as possible.
