However, transportation is available for adoptions within our coverage area. Oh… oh hello. Oh… my name? Well, I’m Roxanne. Yes, like the song. No, please don’t sing it. Loud noises scare me. Actually, everything kind of scares me…. When I lived in my kennel, I didn’t hear or see very much so I thought the world was really quiet and small. And sometimes it was dark and dirty. I always felt bad when it came time to have puppies because they had to be born into a dark and dirty place and I didn't like that. I kept them as clean as I could. The humans who owned me would only come around once in a while, and they were loud and said loud, harsh words to me that I didn't understand. I would hide in the corner and shake because I didn't know what was going to happen to me. When my puppies would get bigger, they would come and take the puppies away and I would never see them again. One day, I got out of my kennel, and the world was so big and scary that I just took off running, trying to find a quiet place to hide. Some kind people picked me up and took me to a big building with lots of dogs in it. I was very scared and even though they were very kind to me, I just wanted to hide in the corner because I didn't know what was going to happen to me. It wasn't long before a kind woman came, and she took me to her home. It was much quieter there and she is very kind to me. I'm still very scared because I don't know what I'm supposed to do or if I can trust her, but I'm trying to learn. It's very hard. I haven't known anything else my whole life. But this is nice! She is kind to me, speaks quietly to me and I never have to worry about being fed or having water. I have a big soft bed to sleep on and every day I get to go out in the grass and in the sunshine and sniff around. I really enjoy that. Sometimes there will be loud noises or something I've never seen or heard before, and I get scared again, but every day I get a little braver and feel a little better. I've sniffed my foster mom's hand a few times and I like the way she smells and how she smiles when I do that. Things like putting the leash on and off are still scary for me but I'm learning to be more comfortable with that. I like to be able to see my foster mom and sometimes I cry when she's away from me because she does bring me comfort. But she says I'm really good in my crate otherwise. I also get in and out of the car willingly even though that scares me a little bit, too. I want to be a good girl and make my foster mom happy because my other humans were never happy with me. My Foster mom has a couple other dogs and they haven't bothered me too much when I'm in my kennel. I haven't met them in person yet but I think we could be friends once I'm a little less scared of the world. My Foster mom says that I would do really great in a home who understood that I'm kind of like a "blank slate", and I just need to learn how to be a dog and how the world works slowly, but surely. They would need to have lots of patience with me and understand that I would need some time to adjust, but I'm trying my very best to be a good girl so that I can live in a home like that someday soon. Can you help me become the best girl I can be?

Story
Bear is an almost 3 year old, large, gorgeous, altered Rottweiler. He is searching for a new family due to his owner having a stroke and no longer able to care for him. He loves to play but currently does not get enough exercise which causes him to exhibit typical behaviors of juvenile boredom. He is a very sweet and loving dog who would flourish in an active home with consistent training. Like most dogs, if no one takes charge of a situation, he will. Bear has had professional training, but it was not followed through at home and he can be stubborn if he doesn't respect the "trainer". However, with people who do reinforce commands he is quick to respond. Bear is very intelligent and eager to please when offered consistent and fair training. He can become mouthy when he is excited. He did this behavior as a puppy and reverted to it when excited. Bear also has never had consistent walks on a leash and needs training in that area. Bear recently was boarded while his owner was hospitalized. The staff reported that he displayed some resource guarding with food and toys resulting in growling if they tried to take it away. Also, when visiting the vet, he needs to be muzzled for blood work or other “in your face” procedures. Overall, Bear is a great dog who will flourish in a home with someone who will enforce boundaries, exercise, and in return will have a loyal dog that loves you more than himself.

She is affectionate, playful, confident, smart, and people-centered. She has no preference between men or women and is good with kids ages 10 and older. ❤️ 🎾 This girl knows how to have fun! Giana loves balls, stuffed animals, rope toys, playing tug, and especially playing in water. A sprinkler or hose is one of her favorite things! 💦 She’s food motivated, loves treats, and takes them gently. Giana has some great manners, too! 👏 She walks GREAT on a leash, is crate trained, has no separation anxiety, and knows sit, stay, wait, and down. She’s a smart girl who catches on quickly and can even ring a bell at the door when she needs to go outside! 🐾 Giana needs to be the only dog in her home. She is a very assertive female and can make bold moves toward other dogs, so she will be happiest and most successful as someone’s one and only pup. Her compatibility with cats is unknown. Her foster describes Giana as a great family dog who loves being with people. Rush is a friendly, playful, deaf (with some partial hearing) 2-year-old neutered male Rottweiler who has had several homes before finding stability with his current foster family. Despite a difficult start in life and multiple returns, he has proven to be a loving, well-adjusted dog. Personality & Behavior * Very affectionate, social, and playful. * Thrives with other dogs and enjoys being part of a pack. * Loves tug-of-war, play wrestling, and chewing toys. * House-trained with excellent indoor manners. * Travels well in the car and behaves well in public. * Comfortable with handling, grooming, and veterinary visits. * Sleeps quietly in a crate overnight. Training * Deaf but highly trainable and eager to learn. * Knows hand-signal cues for sit, stay, come, down, heel/side, and waiting at doors. * Learns quickly and responds well to guidance from both people and other dogs. Health * Has an ongoing issue with his front left leg, likely tendon-related, though no definitive diagnosis has been made. * Enjoys playtime but is not fond of long walks due to the leg discomfort. * Previously experienced anxiety-related behaviors (panting, pacing, whining at dusk) and was treated with Prozac, but has since been successfully weaned off the medication. Other Animals * Gets along very well with other dogs. * Has shown appropriate curiosity around cats and may be able to live with one after proper introductions. Ideal Home Rush would do best in a home with another friendly dog or dogs, a consistent routine, and adopters willing to continue his training and communication through visual cues. Story
Roxy was 2-2.5 years old when we got her. She has been a part of our family for over 7 years and is a sweet girl and will be creeping up on 10 years old. She is a snuggly old girl who will take any attention you will give her and still ask for more. She is very vocal and will let you know when she wants food or needs to be let outside. She is a sweet girl but, due to her age\health, it would be best that she be the only pet and in a home with no small children. We love her immensely but we believe it is in our\her best interest that she finds a new home.
