Story
Welcome to rescue, Crayon!  She is a parvo survivor and getting lots of care and TLC right now.  Crayon is a Reagle, born approximately March 2026.  She is very sweet and would love to meet you!!   A Beagle and Rottweiler mix, often referred to as Reagle, is an uncommon crossbreed.    Once Crayon is fully recovered, she will be ready for her next chapter!  We'll share updates and more information about Crayon as we learn more about her! Please Note:  Crayon came to rescue Parvo+ and won’t be able to go to her furever home until she is fully recovered and released from vet care.  We encourage you to apply to adopt so we can start the process now! The suggested adoption donation for Crayon is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Sparkles came into rescue with her littermates (b. Nov 2023) and they were all battling the deadly Parvovirus.  She has recovered and is now healthy!!  She is a Rottweiler/Pitbull Mix and such a sweet girl with a bright disposition.  She is smart and athletic with an abundance of energy.  Sparkles is a little shy in new or unfamiliar surroundings, but before long, she is all wiggles and wags.  She LOVES to snuggle!  She gets along with other dogs and with kids.  She would do well with an active family and other pets since she doesn't like being alone. The suggested adoption donation for Sparkles is $250, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavi/oral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. Story
Roxy was 2-2.5 years old when we got her. She has been a part of our family for over 7 years and is a sweet girl and will be creeping up on 10 years old. She is a snuggly old girl who will take any attention you will give her and still ask for more. She is very vocal and will let you know when she wants food or needs to be let outside. She is a sweet girl but, due to her age\health, it would be best that she be the only pet and in a home with no small children. We love her immensely but we believe it is in our\her best interest that she finds a new home.

Story
Nipsey is an amazing boy! He is goofy and joyful while also extremely smart and agile. Everyone who has met him has loved him! He has been around numerous children and adults with no issues, although when a group of children were being loud and jumping around in the next room, he got nervous and barked. He will do best in a home with respectful and Rottie-savvy children. He has been a joy to have in our home these past few months as he has recovered from pneumonia as well as a cryptorchid neuter. Through all of the long car rides, Vet visits, x-rays and numerous rounds of meds, Nipsey has been patient and agreeable with all of it. He is a normally quiet dog, using his eyes to tell you what he needs, but when an ambulance or firetruck goes by, he will howl along with their sirens, it is the cutest! It has been wonderful watching him go from a lethargic, extremely sick dog that was literally one day away from euthanasia to this happy-go-lucky, fit, BIG boy that moves like he is 30 pounds less than he actually is. He loves being fed but will patiently sit, wait for his bowl to be filled, and will not eat until he hears “ok.” He has not shown any food aggression and can be hand-fed. Nipsey will happily load into his crate and patiently wait to receive a treat for doing so. He will often choose to take a nap in his crate or will retreat there when his foster is working and making too much noise. Nipsey loves eating the water from the hose and sees anything ball-shape as a toy to play fetch with. He will share his toys with dogs but prefers to keep everything for himself. His foster’s resident dog has been very patient as he learned how to play with dogs and not just play fetch with his humans. He recently engaged in a game of chase with his foster’s dog, it was fun to watch it evolve. This Good Boy loves his cuddles but will be respectful if your hand gets tired. He will either lay next to you or find something to entertain himself with…he really just wants to be near his humans. He is good on a leash, initially, he is very excited but he knows heel and will swing around next to you and sit until you lead him on. He could use more practice but we have had a lot of really great walks. He is housetrained and keeps his bed clean. Nipsey is a dream dog! He is joyful, happy, easy-going and kind. He has not growled once in the 4 months he has been with his foster. He loves his foster’s son who will let him into the yard so he can be the first to greet his Foster Mom when she comes home from work. The wiggle in his nubbin and smile in his eyes makes any problem of the day disappear. Nipsey will be a wonderful addition in any Rottie-savvy and quiet home. Get your throwing arm ready for a boy who loves to play fetch and is as goofy as can be!

Story
From the Shelter: Roxanne has started very shy/fearful in our environment but is slowly starting to find her voice. It has taken her time to warm up to staff but once known comes a little more accepting. Roxanne does not like being touched around the face and does struggle to get away so we have been muzzling as precaution to get any work done on her. She needs a foster home environment that is quiet, can give her more one on one time, and proper socializing. We simply cannot provide that in this environment. ********** 07/22/2026 Update from Shelter: Hello! Just wanted to send a little update on our girl! We got a nice stroll around campus (slow and steady of course) which she very much enjoyed. She has been greatly improving with staff handling her and slowly becoming more trustworthy. ****** Today we were able to verify that she is not spayed - most likely had some litters in her day. Checked over her skin/completed another med bath and another round of antibiotics are on board for her skin as it still has some infection. We were also able to get her boosters done and got her Heartworm test completed which she was Negative for. Overall she did well with handling. Muzzled for blood draw and vaccines as precaution but she just basically shuts down in a submissive state. I have attached some updated photos and medical record for you! Notes from evaluator: When meeting Roxanne she was initially indifferent but was eventually able to interact and pet her (both male and female). She didn't react to other shelter dogs while we were there and never growled or barked. She was also fine with my 11-year old daughter. Roxanne isn't very treat motivated and would not take treats either on the ground or from hand; shelter staff said she normally takes hot dogs but even she couldn't get that to happen while visiting. Physically she looks amazing and is very healthy with a good walk and great stance. When on a leash she will follow, moderate direction needed, once she trusts she will follow you. Watched her with shelter worker she knew she was great. Roxanne flinched during loud noise, but no reaction good or bad. Repeated loud noise she has no reaction at all to. Big movements has initial flinch, but nothing more. She actively investigated the space we were in, did not avoid the people in the area, but also was not seeking them out. Would come as close as she needed to but that was it. She did not seek attention. After we were with her for an hour, I was able to pet her head, ears, even slowly massaged between her eyes as she laid down beside me Roxanne is absolutely placeable, she just needs time, security, slow intros, and calmness. I feel after a 2 week decompression with a foster she will be an absolute angel for someone. Roxanne has a sweet demeanor, zero aggression. If she gets an opportunity to be with someone in a loving environment where she can get acclimated to calm surroundings I think her personality will begin to come out. She needs to be the sole focus of an initial home. I wish we would have had more 1on1 time. She is such a sweetheart and just wants love.

Story
Tobi is a very sweet 3 year old Bernese Mountain Dog that would thrive in a setting with a lot of attention and structure. I am unfortunately needing to rehome him because I am moving overseas due to work. He is crate trained and knows his basic commands, and would do well with an experienced owner that can really dedicate time to him as he is a fast learner and is eager to please. He does well around kids and especially large families that are able to shower him with the love he deserves. Tobi is neutered and gets along with other dogs. He has stayed in homes with cats and I have never heard anything that would indicate that he is not good with cats, however, I have never personally observed him around cats so I am not sure.
