Story
This stunning girl, Jaz is estimated to be a one and half year old Rott/Lab mix that is close to 67 pounds.   She is always excited to play and explore. She is very inquisitive and will explore any new area thoroughly. She loves people and will show it while following you around or hanging on your lap and will try to sneak up for face licks.   When not following you or exploring she likes playing with her chew toys and tugging toys, especially any that make noise. Loves peanut butter in her toys and getting treats when training.   She as not been exposed to cats directly but  has been to the Dog Bar several times and is a little timid around dogs at first, but will warm up and start wandering. Currently would only have around older children around her due to her size and timidness.   Jaz is not a fan of bath time and will try to escape when a hair dryer is used though is slowly getting used to it. She is very food motivated and trainable, but sometimes her attention wanders during training and consistency will be key with her, she can also be a little stubborn. Jaz has mild separation anxiety and will whine when you initially go somewhere she can't follow.    Jaz is kennel trained and house trained though hasn't been free to roam unsupervised, should still have consistent outings of at least 15 min. She will benefit from someone that is confident, patient, consistent in her training, and can get her regularly exercised. She will need a fenced yard without acorns/walnuts, she will eat them. Looking for an a buddy to explore with? This loving girl is just waiting for you to apply at https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/   She is spayed, microchipped, on monthly preventatives and has all her vaccinations and heartworm test for 2024 and 3 yr Rabies vaccination.   ADOPTION DONATION $350 PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. Story
Welcome to the crew, Dynasty (b. April 2020)! Dynasty is a adult female Rottweiler ready to be your own personal big goofball! She loves to be around her people and will curl up next to you. She is crate and leash trained, and also loves to give kisses. Because Dyanasty loves to be active, she will need a fenced-in yard to play with her humans. When Dynasty is left by herself, she loves to sing the song of her people, so a nice size kennel where she feels safe and secure is a must. She knows some commands and gets along well with children 10 and over. If you're looking for a sweet Rottweiler to call your own, fill out an application for Dynasty today! She'll love you forever. Dynasty needs to be the only pet in the home and it would be helpful if her new people have experience with Rottweilers. The suggested adoption donation for Dynasty is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). From time to time owner,s find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information. Ava is a spunky, energetic puppy who loves to zoom around the yard, play with toys and other dogs, go for walks, and chew on bones. Once she's burned off energy, she'll snuggle next to you on the couch and maybe give you a few puppy kisses! Ava is great at learning tricks as she is very food-motivated. She knows how to sit and shake and is learning leave it, down and stay.Like any of our dogs, this pretty girl would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that her breed needs.  Because of that, Ava's ideal owner will have prior Rottweiler or other similar breed experience.  Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember  that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills, and manners.   Ava's adoption fee is $395, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.April 30, 2024, 10:20 pm

Story
MARR covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Ruth is being fostered in IL currently. However, transportation is available for adoptions within our coverage area. If you have never met a dog who was not only one of the SMARTEST creatures alive, but also the cuddliest… look no further. Rue is that, and more. Rue’s showcase of cues and tricks is extensive, and she loves to perform for her family- her most recent trick, “play dead” brings laughter every time. Rue’s nose knows no bounds- she loves to explore quiet, open spaces on her long line, letting her sense of smell lead the way. She excels at scent games, including “find it” and food puzzles. She could easily be taught basic recreational tracking or even something like shed hunting, or she can just “find Mom” in the house for fun! She is an enthusiastic learner, and is always game for training. She’s equally game for snuggling, couch potatoing, naps and movie nights. She has a great “off” switch! She’s wonderful for grooming by her humans, and she fully believes that she is a lap dog. Rue has perfect house manners, including staying in her “place” when food it being prepared in the kitchen, but she will happy munch on a carrot or two if one is offered. She is crate trained and does well in a crate if needed, but can be trusted out in the house alone as well. She has a medium energy level, and her physical and mental needs are easily met with some play and a little training or mental enrichment each day. Rue does struggle with stranger danger, and also struggles with some dog reactivity in situations where she does not know the other dog. However, with gradual introductions to confident people, she can learn to trust them and will then become their favorite snuggle buddy. She does tend to sense when people are nervous around her, and may react negatively, so introductions to new people should be done on an as-needed basis only to minimize any extra stress to her (i.e. family, frequent visitors, dog sitters). Rue has successfully made several dog friends during training (with gradual intros) and she could live with a dog friend if that dog friend has the right temperament (laid back, non-assertive) and is introduced correctly. A confident, calm dog friend would actually be beneficial for Rue. Rue walks well on a leash, but if she is to be walked as a main form of exercise, care must be taken to ensure she has the space she needs from strangers and strange dogs while doing so. This special girl has been in our foster system for a long time, and although her current foster is very dedicated to her and her success and training, we want nothing more than to see this girl in a home of her own. She deserves that!! One look into her soulful, gorgeous eyes, and we know you’ll be hooked.

Story
MARR covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin and transportation is available for foster/adoption within those states. Zailey is currently in Indianapolis, IN. Zailey has been looking for her forever home and she keeps getting overlooked. As any pet, Zailey does have her challenges, but she has been working hard to overcome them. Zailey is fully muzzle and crate trained. She has also learned that barking does not get her what she wants, therefore she has resorted to throwing tantrums on the floor and couch. However, if you ask her if she wants a cookie, she snaps right out of it and comes leaping to wherever you are. She is a work in progress and is extremely food motivated so that is helpful with training. She knows sit, down, stay, bedtime, room, outside, inside, off, easy, and leave it. There are a couple of other commands she hasn't fully mastered but she is slowly getting there. Zailey has also almost mastered walking on a loose leash with her head halter, she has also been learning wait when crossing streets. I could go on and on about everything Zailey has learned while staying with her current fosters but that would be a novel. Zailey LOVES toys and even though she loves playing with them she rarely purposely destroys them and would rather throw them around. Zailey is a wonderful dog that just needs reassurance when facing new situations, people, and other dogs. She has learned that if her foster mom is calm then there is no need for her to react, Zailey would do best in a kid free household where she can get all the attention. Princess Zailey is very much spoiled and would love to show you her tricks in exchange for a treat. She needs someone that will be stern with her and hopefully is rottie savvy. Something else that will help her be very successful is following the decompression guide as she will not rest and nap unless she is alone. We believe Zailey could live with another dog in the home but it would require slow introductions and be a laid back dog for the best chance at long term success. Will you be her angel here on earth?

These pups are in Omaha, Nebraska too!

Story
My name is Elayna and I am estimated to be 5-7 years old.  I am a recent arrival to the rescue   I had lived with an older dog for the past year and we did not always get along but prior to that my history is unknown. I do know some basic commands like “sit” and “stay” and ride nicely in the car.  I can pull some on the least when walking. I am a sweet natured girl who loves people but it may be best if I am placed as an only dog and no cats.  The rescue is getting to know me better and will post updates as available. If you are interested in me please go to www.doberescue-ne.org and review the requirements and rules and place an application. All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted. We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes. Please Note:In most cases we require a fenced yard.We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.Copyright © 2007 - Omaha Doberman RescueFor more information or to fill out an adoption request please visithttp://www.doberescue-ne.org/April 24, 2024, 12:20 am

My name is AJ and I am estimated to be between 3-5 years old.    I feel so blessed that I was able to get into a rescue after being picked up as a stray and sent to a shelter.    Shelters and rescues all over the country are full so I am very lucky to have been rescued. I am an all natural boy with a full tail.    Sometimes I like to chase it! I am friendly and playful.   I am an adolescent male who needs training and patience.    I need to go to a home with people who have current Doberman experience who have the time and patience to work with me.
