Oh Apollo.. what a gorgeous boy 😍🐾.. what we have learned in a week is that he LOVES toys to chew on.. he is very food motivated and acts like a starving man and can be a bit mouthy.. he is still learning boundaries.. he likes to jump on you and tries to get on your lap, likely will continue to need firm guidance and training, especially at his size. No small kids. Would do best with an experienced owner that knows the breed. He’s a very happy big goof though. Crate trained, goes right in for a treat and is quiet. He’s also done well just being gated for a few hours. Has only chewed his toys. He also really likes going for walks and running around the yard. Story
Tyson is loving, gentle, and has an enormous heart. I have been his “owner” since adopting him from a rescue when he was roughly 6 months old. I say “owner” because in reality it is more accurate to say best friend. While he had been abandoned and abused, he could not have been filled with more joy and happiness. From the moment I met him to now he never fails to steal the hearts of those he meets for the first time, or fill with love the hearts of those he is seeing for the first time in a while. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs (strangers or known), groomers, vets, techs…he just always brings joy and love to everyone. He is special. Sadly, I am going through a major change in my personal life that is requiring me to move. I have been unable to find a place that allows dogs. I am happy to answer questions in hopes of finding Tyson a new home where he can bring his special love and energy.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. POPPERS was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 30 October 2023. POPPERS is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of January 2023 and on has an estimated weight of 33 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue      YouTube channel      and      photo albums on our Facebook page      to see a LOT of pictures and videos. POPPERS is an absolute sweetheart, brimming with affection and love with the sweetest, gentle "old soul" type personality. He can come across like a couch potato but he loves to run and wrestle with his friends. When he was in the kennels he did gain some weight, which now he is more active he is losing them - but it is important for his family to be aware to keep him active to keep those dangerous pounds off. POPPERS is a top favourite with everyone he meets. He is a hard chewer of toys and anything other than tough chewing toys he will destroy - red kongs are like scooby snacks to him lol He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and is happy to show anyone he meets lots of love. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. POPPERS is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $3 50. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats.
