Story
Meet Kaldr, a 1-year-old Rottweiler with a soft heart hiding inside that strong, handsome frame. This sweet boy was found stray locally, and while we don’t know much about his past, we do know he’s ready for a much brighter future. Kaldr can be a little shy when meeting new people, taking a moment to size things up, but once he realizes you’re a friend, he melts. And when we say melts, we mean full-on lean-in, snuggle-close, giant cuddle bug mode activated. Once he’s comfortable, Kaldr’s affectionate side really shines. He loves being near his people and is happiest when he’s getting attention and gentle reassurance. He has that classic loyal Rottie vibe — devoted, loving, and happiest when he knows he belongs. With patience and a family willing to give him a little time to open up, Kaldr is going to be an incredibly devoted companion. Kaldr is scheduled to be ready for adoption starting Wednesday, March 4th. If you’re ready to give this sweet boy the safe and loving home he deserves, head over to happylifeanimalrescue.org and register for adoption. That’s the first step toward making Kaldr part of your happy life — and giving him the forever he’s been waiting for. 🐾

Story
Okay friends… we know this might be a long shot since most of our followers are Boxer and Bully lovers, but our motto has always been “no dog left behind”, and we mean it. We received a call from one of the Amish farmers we work with (where we typically take Boxers from) asking if we could step in for this sweet girl. Meet Nancy, a 6 YO Rottweiler who is being retired from breeding and is no longer wanted on the property. Nancy is a GOOD girl! She’s wonderful with adults and kids and would be such an easy girl. Other dogs tend to make her nervous, so we feel being an only dog in the home or with a very low key male dog where she can fully decompress and learn what it means to just be a dog. If you’ve ever considered opening your heart and home to a sweet, deserving girl who just needs a little peace and a lot of love, Nancy might be your girl! If you’re an approved foster and may be able to help, message us. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting and are new to our organization, please click on the link below to apply. Story
Meet Missy!Missy was brought to us as an owner surrender and is a delightful, social butterfly. She loves being in the presence of family and strangers alike, showing off her friendly and outgoing nature. My Ideal HomeMissy will thrive in an adult-only home where she can enjoy a calm environment. A household familiar with managing medium energy levels would suit her well, ensuring she gets her daily walks and the affection she adores. A place without children or cats is ideal, as well as a family that understands her on-leash reactivity and can provide positive reinforcement.Good with Kids? No, Missy is not comfortable around children and may react with barking or growling. An adult-only home is recommended.Good with Other Pets?Missy prefers to avoid other dogs and is not suited for a home with cats, as she may react to them with barking or growling. She thrives best in a pet-free environment.Leash MannersMissy walks well on a leash with minimal pulling, though she might react to dogs and strangers approaching her by barking or growling. Regular walks and continued leash training would benefit her greatly.Overall HealthHealthy overall. Behavior DeterminationExperienced Adopters Only: Missy needs a home where her resource guarding can be managed, and her potential for defensive behavior around children, dogs, and unfamiliar situations can be addressed with understanding and care.Other Fun FactsMissy is incredibly affectionate and thoroughly loves attention and hugs! She is treat motivated, with bacon being a particular favorite. Missy enjoys car rides and relaxing with her people, making her a wonderful companion for those cozy evenings at home. Story
A six year old Rottweiler mix, this Bonnie young lass promises to be a loyal, devoted companion. A recent arrival to Little Shelter, she is still finding her footing, though her confidence is growing daily, allowing her gentle, sweet-natured personality to shine through. Intelligent, quiet, and calm, she enjoys going on walks around the grounds, and greeting the squirrels, all while listening intently to your conversation. Her favorite adoption office counselor says she likes cuddling on the couch in the break room and looking out the window, surveillance being her “love language”. Looking for someone she can love and monitor, she’ll interrogate anyone who texts after 9pm, her intuition protecting your sanity and sleep patterns. If Bonnie sounds perfect for you, stop by for a meet and greet today…one look into those big, brown eyes and you’ll be smitten! “A rescue animal will never forget the moment you chose them.” *Bonnie is fully grown and housebroken*
