Story
Say Hi to Bronco! This striking gentleman is a 1.5 year old Rottweiler. Originally from an Amish Puppy Mill, Bronco has landed in rescue, completed training and is ready for his first forever home! Bronco came to us a terrified shell of a dog. He had to be carried into the prison program because he was too scared to walk. Once he settled in, he blossomed into an outgoing, fun loving, happy Rottie! His ‘puppy like’ nature also came to light once he became more comfortable! Bronco’s ideal home would have: -A securely fenced in backyard. Although he does best going to the bathroom on leash; he LOVES running around and exploring the backyard with friends! He is also a BIG FAN of fetch. He would prefer to have a safe yard to play in. -Fur siblings his size! Bronco is more comfortable around other dogs. But at 94 pounds, his boisterous play style isn't a fit for all dogs ;). Someone his size to show him the ropes and be his pal will make the transition into a family much easier on him! -Rottweiler/Guardian breed experience. If you’ve never owned a dog before, or have always owned Shih Tzus or Labs, starting off with a big ‘teenager’ Rottweiler would not be ideal. He is a great boy! But intimidating if you haven’t had hands-on experience with the breed! -Commitment to continue training. Bronco has mastered the basics in our prison program! But due to his age, breed, size and strong will; he will need a family committed to keeping him in shape ;). A young Rottie who gets the upper hand does not make for a pleasant family member! All in all Bronco is a wonderful, beautiful boy ready for his next chapter! He is a sweetheart and loves playing with other dogs and being around his people. He is up for an adventure or chewing on a toy while you hang on the couch. With proper exercise, boundaries and a whole lot of love Bronco will be the best friend you’ve ever had! He has not been around young kids, but due to his size we would recommend kids no younger than 10. He also thinks cats are really, really fun to chase! For your cat’s sake, maybe don’t bring him home ;) Bronco is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and HW negative/on prevention. He is potty trained, leash trained and does well in a crate. If you are interested in Bronco please visit our website and complete an adoption application: https://www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables His adoption fee is $350

Meet Pastrami! Pastrami recently came to us as a stray, and unfortunately was not reclaimed by her family. Pastrami is a middle aged lady, over all the puppy shenanigans and ready to be a stable and easy going companion for her future family. She appears to be potty trained, and loves to play with squeaky toys or find yummy snacks! Pastrami has done okay with other dogs in the shelter. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Pastrami home. Story
Meet Dixie! This beautiful lady has become a bit of a local celebrity; known for her frequent shelter visits and sightings on social media. Unfortunately Dixie's previous family struggled to keep her contained, and on Dixie's most recent visit to the shelter they chose not to reclaim her. While Dixie has been a bit of an escape artist in the past, we believe with a secure fence and supervision she is not going to be quite the Houdini. Dixie is ready to put her life of puppies, running, and shelter stays behind her. She is well loved by staff and known for her wonderful personality; everyone that meets Dixie remarks on just how sweet and loving she is! Dixie enjoys being with people and would love an affectionate, semi-active family. She loves children and has been the perfect mix of gentle and playful. She does well with other dogs and previously lived with another dog. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Dixie home. If you are interested in meeting Dixie, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit.
