Story
Say Hi to Bronco! This striking gentleman is a 1.5 year old Rottweiler. Originally from an Amish Puppy Mill, Bronco has landed in rescue, completed training and is ready for his first forever home! Bronco came to us a terrified shell of a dog. He had to be carried into the prison program because he was too scared to walk. Once he settled in, he blossomed into an outgoing, fun loving, happy Rottie! His ‘puppy like’ nature also came to light once he became more comfortable! Bronco’s ideal home would have: -A securely fenced in backyard. Although he does best going to the bathroom on leash; he LOVES running around and exploring the backyard with friends! He is also a BIG FAN of fetch. He would prefer to have a safe yard to play in. -Fur siblings his size! Bronco is more comfortable around other dogs. But at 94 pounds, his boisterous play style isn't a fit for all dogs ;). Someone his size to show him the ropes and be his pal will make the transition into a family much easier on him! -Rottweiler/Guardian breed experience. If you’ve never owned a dog before, or have always owned Shih Tzus or Labs, starting off with a big ‘teenager’ Rottweiler would not be ideal. He is a great boy! But intimidating if you haven’t had hands-on experience with the breed! -Commitment to continue training. Bronco has mastered the basics in our prison program! But due to his age, breed, size and strong will; he will need a family committed to keeping him in shape ;). A young Rottie who gets the upper hand does not make for a pleasant family member! All in all Bronco is a wonderful, beautiful boy ready for his next chapter! He is a sweetheart and loves playing with other dogs and being around his people. He is up for an adventure or chewing on a toy while you hang on the couch. With proper exercise, boundaries and a whole lot of love Bronco will be the best friend you’ve ever had! He has not been around young kids, but due to his size we would recommend kids no younger than 10. He also thinks cats are really, really fun to chase! For your cat’s sake, maybe don’t bring him home ;) Bronco is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and HW negative/on prevention. He is potty trained, leash trained and does well in a crate. If you are interested in Bronco please visit our website and complete an adoption application: https://www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables His adoption fee is $350

Story
Darrell came in as a stray. We have no background or history for him. We recommend that he goes to a home without cats only because he was extremely eager to go after our house cats. Darrell does not seem to be reactive to the other dogs he passes by here in the kennels. If you have another dog in your home, we will want to do a meet and greet with them and Darrell. If interested in meeting Darrell, please fill out an online application. If approved, we will contact you to schedule a time to visit, during our open hours.

Story
Kona arrived as a stray. She is a big girl and loves people. We are guessing her to be 3 pulse years. She is very selective of her doggy friends. She keeps her kennel clean and loves her toys.  If you have interest please stop in during our regular business hours to meet and apply for him. Dogs do not go home the same day as meeting--we review applications first.March 19, 2026, 12:16 am

Story
Obi is a 95 lb ox.  He is social and often times has zero respect for space. Obi will NEED and require obedience training.  While he does know sit he is not consistent with listening because he has the attention span of a fly.   Obi is a large boy----he can be reactive (barky) with other dogs so meet and greets with other dogs is required and must be scheduled in advance.  He has been neutered, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested negative, and is microchipped.  Due to his size and lack of access to be able to test him----we suggest a home with out cats.  It is unknown how he is with children BUT based on his jumping and energy we suspect he would be a candidate to knock down little ones.....so perhaps teenagers and older would be best. Familiarity with the breed is a plus.  He is a big boy, strong on lead and can be a bit overwhelming due to his size.   Please call ahead to schedule an appt to meet him.  Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Story
Nora came to us from my son's friend's family who had rescued her from a swap meet. They already had three dogs and Nora, being a younger dog, was too much for them to handle. We took her in, got her up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped. She is great with our other dog, cat and children as young as 5. She's a quick learner and can walk on a leash well even though my guess is that she'd never been on one until we got her. The vet estimates she's about 2 years old. She's house-trained but can also be a submissive pee-er around new people. She's the sweetest girl but her presence was not welcomed by all human members of the family and she's causing strife. We need to find her a new home where she can be loved and spoiled like she deserves.

Story
Having to find a new home for my dog Bruce and want to do right by him, not just post and hope. Bruce is 7, about 108 lbs, and about as gentle as a dog his size can be. He's amazing with people, including kids, and has never once shown aggression toward a person. He's calm, affectionate, and settled, basically a big lap dog who doesn't know he's big. The one thing to know: Bruce does not get along with another dog in the home and will stand up for himself if pushed. He'd do best as the only dog in the household, or with an experienced owner who can manage a careful introduction if there's already a dog in the house. He needs a fenced yard and a confident handler on leash given his size. I'm doing a meet-and-greet before any placement and would love updates once he's settled. Happy to answer questions about his history and routine. Bruce deserves a soft landing, and I want to make sure it's the right one.

Story
Liberty BelleFemaleD.O.B. 5/1/2026Expected Full-Grown Weight: 65-75 lbsBreed: Boxer Mix Hi, I’m Liberty Belle, but my friends call me Belle! I’m an athletic, enthusiastic, and curious puppy who loves watching, learning, exploring, and being part of the action. I’m good with dogs, cats, and kids. I currently live with other dogs of different sizes and two cats, and I do well with everyone. Since I’m still young, I’m working on house training and leash walking, and I do need to be crated when left alone for short periods of time. I’m also learning that when the bells on the door ring, it’s time to go outside. I love toys — especially anything that squeaks! In the morning, I like to pull squeaky toys from the toy bin and carry them to my favorite spot on the couch. I also love playing in the kiddy pool, splashing my paws, fishing toys out of the water, and carrying them around the yard. When I get excited, I love to zoom around in big, fast circles. I’m a strong, muscular little girl with impressive jumping skills, and I’ve even tried to parkour my way through flower pots and across the garden. I’m playful and busy, so while I don’t mind being held or carried, I usually have places to go, toys to play with, and adventures to start. I’m affectionate too! I love couch cuddles and especially like to be the big spoon, nosing my way between my person and the back of the couch so I can snuggle in close. I’m also attentive and take cues from my people. If another dog barks at something outside, I look to my foster dad first to see how he reacts. I like to taste-test treats before fully committing, but cream cheese was a big hit when it came time to take my monthly flea, tick, and heartworm pill. If you’re looking for a fun, smart, active puppy who loves toys, cuddles, zoomies, and exploring the world, I might just be your Girl. If you are interested in meeting Belle apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $395. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2778277##
