Story
Meet Rocky — A Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold Rocky’s journey has been full of ups and downs, but his spirit remains unshaken. He came to Clifford’s Army Rescue in October 2022, just four months old, with a serious knee and hip injury. Thanks to expert care and two major surgeries—knee repair and FHO—Rocky regained use of his leg and blossomed into a happy, healthy pup. In April 2023, Rocky was adopted into what we all hoped would be his forever home. Sadly, after an incident with the family’s other dog, Rocky was injured again and returned to us—not because of anything he did wrong, but out of concern for his safety. Now Rocky is back, and he’s ready to love again. About Rocky: Approximately 70 lbs of pure affection ?Thinks he’s a lap dog (and we won’t argue!) Gets along well with other dogs Walks beautifully on a leash Housetrained and ready to move in Absolutely gorgeous—inside and out Rocky is a love bug who adores people and thrives on companionship. He’s looking for a family who will cherish him and give him the safe, loving home he deserves. Could Rocky be your perfect match? Fill out our online adoption application and let this sweet boy start his next chapter. Absolutely! Here's a clear, condensed, and compassionate version of your **Adoption Recommendations & Procedures** for easier reading and sharing: --- ## ? Adoption Guidelines & Process At Clifford’s Army Rescue, our priority is finding the *right match* for every dog. Most come from difficult situations, and we want to ensure their next home is truly forever. Adoption Recommendations: - **Puppies**: Children in the home should be **at least 6 years old**. - **Small breeds** (Chihuahua, Yorkie, Shih Tzu, etc.): Children should be **at least 8**. - **Herding/working breeds**: We recommend children be **at least 12**. *Each application is evaluated individually to ensure the best fit.* --- ### ? Adoption Requirements: - Minimum adopter age: **21 years** - **No adoptions to college students**, due to financial and time constraints - **Fenced yards required** for some dogs based on individual needs - We do adopt to apartment dwellers—with **landlord approval** - **Home visits** are required (up to 2 hours away); we do **not** offer virtual visits - You must sign a **contract** agreeing to return the dog to us if you’re unable to keep them --- Adoption Process: 1. **Submit an online application**: [? Adoption Application](https://cliffordsarmyrescue.com/1423-2) 2. Receive an **automated confirmation email** 3. Our adoption coordinator will contact you 4. **References** are checked 5. A **home visit** is scheduled 6. A **meet & greet** with the dog(s) follows 7. If it’s a match, a **contract is signed** and you welcome your new family member home --- Every dog deserves love, stability, and a safe place to call home. Thank you for helping us make that possible.

Story
Meet Kaylee! This sweet girl was brought to us with her 5 puppies, Brock, Bravo, Brax, Brigg, and Britt. Fill out an application to give this Rottweiler mix a furever home! To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. For more information about CARE and to see our adoption application, go to our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org

Story
Cookie is a sweet, active and very smart Bernese mix. He has great reflexes and loves to play tug of war. He turned 1 in December. He loves to play all day and get lots of attention. Due to severe allergies we cannot keep him in the house. He is too lonely to be an outside dog and need to be inside with humans. We are looking for someone who can give him lots of exercise, mental stimulation, and a good amount of attention. He is great with kids so a family would be ideal. Cookie is not used to being indoors, so he needs to be house trained. We would like the new owner to have previous experience owning dogs as he is an active breed.
