This big beautiful girl cost someone $3500 2 years ago. A year ago she found herself abandoned and living on a chain a couple hundred feet behind the home she used to live inside of. The family she used to be a part of had moved away. Thankfully the property owner had been caring for her until he could find the perfect place for her. She is now safe and comfortable at the Funny Farm and back inside where it’s warm and she gets to play and have people love on her throughout the day. She is 62 pounds of pure love. She loves everyone she meets and is a little submissive. She loves other dogs of all sizes as well. She has a moderate prey drive so cats would probably not be a great idea although we are told she used to live with 2. She absolutely loves toys, especially this giant donut and she loves to go for rides. She does great off leash and has excellent recall. She is the typical Rottie and is a slob with her water and food and has no idea how big she is because she loves to sit in your lap. She knows sit but I believe from living on a chain for a year, she does jump a little but she corrects fairly easy. This girl has tons of potential in an experienced home. She needs lots of exercise and consistent training. Sweet and gentle, but somewhat shy and tentative with new people and situations. Great with other dogs and would enjoy a dog buddy in her new home. Not cat tested. Has never lived with children, although she’d likely be fine with older dog-savvy children. Housebroken but never crated because she doesn’t need to be. High energy level outside, settles down quickly in the house. Low maintenance, good house manners. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Loves to be with her people. DOB is April 2024. Scooter has entropian Right Eye but it doesn’t seem to bother her much. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 80 pounds. Meet Darlin...at HAA we don't give up on our dogs! This girl has been at our shelter 4 years and 11 months!! How ridiculous is that?! Let me tell you about Darlin. She was found as a stray with a prolapse uterus out on the side of the road. She had to have emergency surgery to save her life. She has recovered from this, she has recovered from heartworms, and lived almost FIVE years in a kennel. She protects her "space" - it's her home. Taken out of her kennel she warms up to people very fast. She has a buddy she plays with - a big Walker hound. She does best with male dogs. She isn't a young pup anymore, so she just likes to hang out with her buddy. This girl needs out of here YESTERDAY! She is a volunteer favorite & looking for a home to call her own.
