Kato is a 8 month old male Rottweiler/Pit Bull Terrier who weighs 81 pounds. Kato is a big boy whose puppyhood has not been a stable, happy one. During his time at the shelter we’ve really grown to know this big lovable guy a great deal better. He can come off as excitable when greeting someone at the front of his kennel. Once we get him harnessed and outside, he’s just a really great dog. He is curious, loves to use his nose. We call walks with Kato, sniff walks. He is not a puller, just loves to stroll along and take in the outside and all of the wonderful smells. We have not paired him with other dogs but we have had him out on parallel walks with a number of our other shelter residents. He shows a little anxiety at first but quickly gets over it and we have had very calm, lovely parallel walks with Kato and a couple of other dogs at the same time. During play yard time, he is more apt to want to spend time with you rather than play ball. He loves a good scratch behind the ears! Come in and meet this big, very lovely pup.

With a face like that, you saw it, and a name like Raja, I'm pretty sure he was supposed to guard a royal castle but instead he took a few clown classes and caught the first bus pointed somewhere fun. He may have the looks for it but this big ol’ boy was not born for the “guard-dog” life. Unless its guarding you from the windshield wipers in the car- that is a mission he is deeeeply dedicated to. Raja is actually a gentle, prayerful soul whose greatest mission in life is loving his people deeply and, again, protecting them from those unpredictable and suspiciously energetic windshield wipers. He rides beautifully in the car- though he does expect that most trips will start (or end) in a pup cup or a kolache. (Honestly?Me too. And in his case, he is usually right. He has earned it afterall.)I will warn you now, Raja has a level of pretty privilege that defies explanation- drive-thru workers hand him snacks, on the house, and his local kolache spot sends his favorites at the first sight of his foster mom, even when he’s not present. Charisma like that cannot be taught, only appreciated and admired. In the car, Raja takes his role as protector seriously so lets go back to his life’s mission- protecting you from the windshield wipers- those untrustworthy little demons. Rest assured, if they act up, Raja is on it. He dutifully sits in the passenger seat, head out the window, breeze flapping the ears and folds around, but never distracting him from the moment those wipers get to movin’. He knows how to give a subtle warning though, he starts low with a few barks so don’t worry, he doesn't escalate beyond the appropriate. Raja is wonderful with other dogs of all sizes. He can be bouncy and playful, but he has great dog manners and knows how to take breaks when playtime winds down. That said, he doesn’t need a canine companion to be happy. Give him a ball, a patch of grass, and a person to love, and he will be heart-full and set. Truly, this boy is one of the best self-entertainers you could meet (or watch for entertainment) and watching him happily amuse himself is pure joy. He does need a home with a yard (that grass patch matters), and he’s looking for a cat-free home. He once loved a stuffed toy shaped like a cat and, bless his heart, does not understand the difference between plush and pet (or so the lore goes.) Better safe than sorry, right? Raja is smart, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his people. He’s the kind of dog who will stand watch when needed and then curl up close, convinced his job is never really done as long as you’re nearby. We got our dog from a breeder in Eastern Washington. Our dog is 6 years old, and has lived with us for about 5 and a half years. Both of my daughters became really allergic to dogs the past year or so and we’ve been trying to live with it but it hasn’t been going too well, and without any other option, we sadly decided to give our dog up for adoption. Our dog is friendly, quite introverted a decent amount of the time, and treats house objects carefully. In a new home, we hope that the person and/or family who takes in our dog will treat him with kindness and gentle care.

I was rescued from a California shelter a couple of years ago, where I shared a kennel with another dog. I am a mellow, older boy who needs a soft bed and a loving owner. I was abandoned by my previous owners and have done nothing to deserve that, but am ready for a new start in life. I will make a wonderful companion for someone who can be my companion. HI - I'M PHOENIX! I'm a handsome and healthy 9-1/2-year-old Rottie-Dobie mix in need of a foster or forever home. I lost my previous foster home due to no fault of mine, and I really miss having people around to snuggle and take me for walks and other outings. A little bit about me: I was rescued from a shelter a couple years ago, where I was a shelter favorite, and am currently waiting for someone to adopt me. I weigh about 80 lbs. Despite my age, I am active and I'm a very loving dog. I'll do well with an active person or people who can take me for walks and hikes. I have many positive traits - I am affectionate, I walk well on a leash, and I am a loyal and sweet dog. I will be your best friend for life. I also prefer to have my person or people around, but that can be expected of most dogs! I am not a barker unless it is warranted. I can also be a bit protective of my people and our property, which can be a good thing. While I get along with dogs I know (especially female dogs around my size), I can be reactive on a leash toward dogs I don't know. However, I really do like female dogs - I currently love to hang out and go on walks with my girlfriend Darla, a Doberman. And I love human attention and affection - I am affectionate and caring. Alfalfa has so many meanings. To horse people alfalfa is a rich and green leafy food :) To dog people, Alfalfa, means ME!!! I have not lead the most "leafy" life though. I was FINALLY saved from an extreme hoarding situation - I was waiting my whole life to leave that "life" behind!! And I am SO grateful to the ladies who have taken over a year to save 65 of the 87 dogs I lived with AND are still working to get more out! I am a shy when u first meet me, but don't let that de-suade you! I will warm up and you will be so so grateful that you gave me the time to open up to you and show you my steady and grateful side, I am more of a loner than a lot of hoarding dogs are, I actually would be fine with or without another dog or cat.
