Story
** This dog is not in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes - Her current owner needs to rehome her and we are assisting with that process. If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform ** Raya is an 11-year-old senior Rottweiler/Retriever (Black Labrador) mix with a beautiful black and brown coat. She is a fun-loving, affectionate girl who truly believes she’s a 100-lb lap dog. She’s incredibly sweet and greets her people with excited howls when they come home. Raya does wonderfully with people of all ages, including small children, and loves attention and companionship. She gets along well with most dogs, especially those who enjoy playing, but she does best when introductions are done on leash. She hasn’t been around other animals besides dogs. Raya was rescued and has a skin condition affecting her tail and one paw, as well as a chicken allergy, so she will need an owner who can continue managing her care. Due to a recent period of unemployment and now working long hours, her owner is no longer able to give her the time, attention, and care she deserves. Raya would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of love, attention, and consistent care. She is a loyal, gentle companion who just wants to be close to her people. Details: Breed: Rottweiler/Retriever (Black Labrador) mix Color: Black/Brown Sex: Female Age Group: Senior Age: 11 years, 11 months, 29 days Estimated Birthdate: 02/01/2014

Meet Kora: your future shadow, hype woman, and best friend 💁‍♀️ This 5-year-old Rottie babe is equal parts snuggly and independent—she loves her people and bonds hard (like… congrats, you now have a 90lb bestie who’s obsessed with you). She’s got nice leash skills, enjoys her outings, and just needs a human who can keep things consistent. Kora has lived with other dogs and cats but could be your whole world 💅 She’s also in her fitness era to lose about 10lbs before she has to fit into a bikini this summer. If you want a loyal, hilarious, ride-or-die kind of dog… Kora is THAT girl.

Story
Strong, smart, a little silly, and very enthusiastic about a game of fetch… this is Ohlee! She has a cool, calm confidence but still lights up when the fun begins. A Rottweiler with a playful side, a friendly nature and a big ol’ heart, how could anyone resist? Want to see this fetch-loving beauty in action? Head over to YouTube and then come right back to learn more about the girl who ran away with out heart. Ohlee is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 74 lbs. She appears to be a Rottweiler through and through, just a slightly more petite version of the classic look. As always with rescue, breed and birthday are our best guess. During her assessment, Ohlee made an impression right away. She greeted people with friendly curiosity and has a relaxed confidence that makes everyone smile and makes her easy company. When it was time to show-off what she knows, she showed that she has great basic leash skills and is happy to engage with her handler. Smart girl energy all the way. And then there’s the fetch. Ohlee absolutely understands the assignment. Toss the ball and she’s off with joyful purpose, bringing it right back with a gentle mouth and zero toy possessiveness. It’s the kind of easy, cooperative play that makes backyard time extra fun. With other dogs, Ohlee was an absolute star. Calm, confident, friendly… and also perfectly content doing her own thing. She greeted every dog politely and then often wandered off to sniff the yard like a happy little explorer. She initiated play a couple of times, but she seems more like a “short play session and then back to sniffing” kind of girl. Overall she gives off that wonderful medium-to-low energy vibe that makes her easy company for people and dogs. Ohlee is fostered in a loving home with a wide variety of dogs and her foster family praises her for being house and crate trained with great house manners. She is calm, respectful, and learns quickly. Ohlee has shown that living with cats isn’t the right match for her, so she’ll need a feline-free home moving forward. Otherwise, Ohlee is the kind of dog who fits into many lifestyles. With her steady temperament and moderate energy level, she could even thrive in an apartment environment as long as the building allows larger breeds and she gets her daily walks and the occasional game of fetch. If you’ve been dreaming of a loyal companion who mixes classic Rottie charm with a playful spirit and easygoing presence, Ohlee is your girl! Story
Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST! Just like a Twix bar, I am super sweet, a little salty, and really ooey gooey! I was found when I was only 10 months old and brought to God’s Dogs Rescue. I was adopted shortly after but returned due to being a snarky teenager and showing tenacity and energy common with my breeds. Training would have been key! Anyway, since coming back, I have spent almost *4.5 years* living on GDR's ranch property in Texas. I’ve been overlooked all this time and it’s time for that to change! I have now been in a foster home for ~8 months. It took some time to adjust to being indoors again but I have learned the wonders of ✨air conditioning✨. It also took time to adjust to “less dogs” but I‘m loving my newfound personal space. There are other dogs in my foster home but, at my age, I prefer dogs that match my low energy. I would even be fine as the only dog. Certainly no cats or other small animals for me! I still have a tinge of that independent/stubborn streak from my youth but, at the end of the day, I am a BIG LOVER! I get so excited, wiggly, and bouncy with my foster mom. She gives the best hugs and back scratches, I give the best hair tumbleweeds. I shed A LOT! While living at the rescue, they took great care of me...too good, honestly. I put on a lot of weight but have now slimmed down some, too! I am eating less and getting joint supplements every day to continue working on my figure. I am a generally lazy guy but I am amazing on a leash and love to go on walks. More consistent exercise will help with my weight loss. I still have plenty of pep in my step (especially when I‘m on the hunt for squirrels) so don’t let my age or size fool you. I am so ready for my new AND FINAL home! I will melt your heart when you look into my caramel eyes and sweet, chocolatey soul. Don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
So, as you can see I am a BIG BIG GUY(130#)!!! Like the German Rotties, I have a BIG old HEAD and a propensity to protect my people....... I need just the right home, no other dogs please. I was not socialized with other dogs while growing up and am a big boy and so introducing to other dogs is a challenge for the rescuers and therefore we are looking for a single dog home. I am a very typical rottie and was kept as a protector of the property. I LOVE my people and honestly would love to be a lap dog, lol, but I also need a couple or single who is a strong leader, who really understands my breed and who will assure that I stay safe and others do as well. Now, I have a sweet and loving side, and my friends love that about me ;) But look at my face, without my toothy grin, and you know they understand that I am a serious guy :) I love my peeps and am ready for just the right place. I can only be adopted in TX and HAVE to be met and introduced and spend time with me before the rescue will approve my adoption. So only the strong need apply!! You will get an AMAZING and DEDICATED and EXTREMELY LOYAL DOG! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX only)
