Hi, I'm Rudy! I'm a big, calm guy with an independent streak, but don't let that fool you-I still enjoy spending time with my people and soaking up attention. I love a good game with my favorite ball, know several basic commands, and have great recall. I'm happiest in a home where I can relax with my family and enjoy the simple things in life. While I can be friendly with visitors and enjoy being petted, I can be a little unsure of strangers at first and appreciate being given the chance to warm up at my own pace. Once I know you're a friend, I'm an easygoing companion who enjoys being part of the family. My ideal home would be with people who can comfortably handle a large, strong dog and continue helping me build good leash manners. I could potentially share my home with another friendly female dog after proper introductions, but I'd do best without another male dog. I could also do well with older, respectful children who understand that when I'm playing with my favorite ball, it's best to let me enjoy it without trying to take it away. If you're looking for a loyal, laid-back companion with plenty of love to give, I just might be the perfect match for you! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Phoebe is a beautiful 1½ year old girl with confidence, curiosity, and loads of personality. She’s smart, learns quickly, loves her people, and enjoys other dogs. Active and playful when it’s time to move, she also has a great off switch once her physical and mental needs are met. She’s sweet and affectionate without being clingy. Phoebe has mild, short-lived separation anxiety (usually 5–10 minutes), crates readily, sleeps quietly through the night, and is impressively easy for her age, though she is vocal and likes to keep everyone informed when something seems “off.” Handling her is a dream. Nail trims and general handling are effortless. She’s still polishing her leash manners and overall skills, but she’s eager to please and wants to do things right. Phoebe would thrive in an active home that enjoys hiking, outdoor adventures, or dog sports and is committed to providing both physical exercise and mental enrichment.
