This story is important to many Native American groups, especially the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), because it explains where the land came from—they call North America Turtle Island. It also teaches that animals and humans are connected and should help each other, that even small or weak beings like Muskrat can do great things, and that people should respect nature and live in balance with the Earth.Miskwaadesi has the most beautiful eyes and is as sweet as can be. He is an early riser but will go back to sleep once he does is business outside. He is working hard on house training and making process but just not there yet.
