Earl Gray has informed us that his current best friend is a dud. 😹
While his orange plush companion has been very patient, it doesn’t wrestle, chase, pounce, play tag, or teach proper kitten manners. Earl has therefore launched an official search for a forever family with a new best friend—preferably one with whiskers, endless energy, and a willingness to engage in professional-level kitten shenanigans.
🐾 Meet Earl Gray 🐾
This handsome Russian Blue/Tabby mix has enough energy, enthusiasm, and personality for several kittens, and he desperately wants a playmate who can keep up. Earl was found alone as a young kitten, so he never had littermates to teach him proper kitten etiquette. As a result, he tends to view humans as his wrestling partners, jungle gyms, and personal entertainment committee.
The good news? Earl absolutely adores companionship. He’s chatty and has some strong and correct opinions. 😹
He is highly social and happiest when he has someone to interact with. While he enjoys human attention, what Earl really needs is a confident, playful feline friend—or possibly a cat-savvy dog—who can help channel his endless energy into healthy play. A buddy would give him the wrestling matches, games of chase, and social interaction that humans simply can’t provide.
Earl spends his days chasing springs, attacking wand toys, zooming through tunnels, pouncing on anything that moves, and generally treating life like one giant amusement park. He approaches every day with the enthusiasm of a toddler who just discovered espresso.
When he’s finally worn himself out, Earl reveals his softer side. He loves climbing onto people’s chests, curling up close, and purring himself to sleep. Underneath all that energy is a sweet, affectionate kitten who genuinely loves being around his people.
Earl would thrive in an active home with experienced cat people who understand that kittens need appropriate outlets for their energy and instincts. He is not a kitten who should be raised as an only pet. His ideal family will already have a young, playful cat looking for a friend, a cat-savvy dog who enjoys companionship, or be willing to adopt another energetic kitten alongside him.
If you’re looking for a quiet lap cat, Earl probably isn’t your guy.
But if your resident cat is bored, your playful dog wants a feline sidekick, or you’re looking for a kitten who will keep everyone entertained while growing into an affectionate companion, Earl Gray may be the perfect addition to your family.
Earl doesn’t just want a home—he wants a teammate.
He has been neutered and vetted for his age and his litter box trained.

***WHY MISSION MEOW IS BEST TO ADOPT FROM:***
***Complete Information
You get to speak directly to the foster family who have the kittens in their care!
No one knows the kittens better than the people who have had them for the last several weeks or more. They will give you full details as to personality, background, quirks, likes/dislikes, ETC. Since adopting a pet is a commitment for the next 15-20 years, you want as much information as possible to make the best decision.
***Private, quiet meet & greets
You get to visit the kittens in their own current environment where they run free so their true personality shines through. Our kittens arenât subjected to noisy stores and stressful cages and you wonât be competing with other annoying people for your desired kittens.
***Quality over Quantity
We are a small rescue so we can focus on each kitten individually to provide personalized medical & socialization protocols. Because we do not overcrowd, our cats do not pass contagious diseases to each other.
***Veterinary Care
We balance a mix of holistic & conventional protocols to keep our kittens healthy. We use high quality disease preventatives & medication when necessary. Mission Meow only wants the best medical care for our kittens, so we donât skimp on those costs AT ALL. We work closely with our vet to come up with a plan for any kittens who may be ill and to prevent any unnecessary and over medicating. Three local veterinarians have adopted from us after observing the quality of our kittens.
***FOOD:
Our kittens are nourished with high-quality food. We âve been offered free /discounted food from other companies but we choose to use the best option even if it costs more for us.
***Resident Pet/Child Safety
While no one can guarantee the health of any living being, we do our best to make sure your adopted kitten does not have any issues such as parasitic worms that can be passed on to your resident pets or children. We have a very thorough deworming protocol using the best products on the market and the proper duration. Most places adopt kittens while they are in between showing signs of intestinal worms. Not us.
***POST ADOPTION SUPPORT
It is extremely rare that we have any issues post adoption, but if there were any that presented themselves, we would work with you towards a resolution. We pride ourselves on the one-on-one relationships we build with our adopters.

*****ADOPTION PROCESS:*****
APPLICATION:
Please contact us and we will send you an online application. A response is usually given with 24-48 hrs if we think it's a potentially good match.
INTERVIEW:
An adoption counselor will contact you via phone to answer any questions and if it seems like a good fit, arrangements will be made for all parties to meet with desired cat(s) at a mutually agreeable time.
APPROVAL:
If adoption is approved, a contract and adoption fee to cover veterinary costs will be required. You will be given medical files.
TIME FRAME:
Based on volunteer availability, it is possible for all adoption steps to be completed the same day, however, it is not guaranteed. Please note that occasionally a home check, vet records/references, etc may be required and multiple people may be interested in the same cat(s) so additional time may be necessary. You are also welcome to get the kitten an appointment with your own veterinarian at your expense prior to adoption, just be aware that may delay the adoption by several days.
WHY:
Our adoption vetting process ensures a proper feline fit for your family. You may be a wonderful pet owner but may not be the best fit for a particular cat, or other extenuating circumstances. Also, YOU may know you are a good pet owner, but we don't. We exist because too many people view pet ownership as casual or disposable so we want to be sure the best match is made for the next 15-20 years. Your patience and understanding as to where we are coming from are much appreciated. Our adoption process is also reflective of the extremely thorough medical protocol our kittens receive. Thank you!
