Story
Elsa is a lucky cat. When she found herself with four black kittens, she found a very clean encapsulated crawlspace to take care of her babies. The owner, unfortunately, was a chemotherapy patient and knew it was problematic for her health to have the little family there. She called Rockin Community Cats and we got the kittens adopted and now mom is awaiting her forever home. She was a marvelous mother and is a wonderful all-around cat!! If you're looking for a companion animals that will love you, this is her!!

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Happy Holidays! My name is Tippy. I'm a little guy that was found as a stray. There was no way the I would have last long. The nice lady that found me couldn't keep me but she plead my case. I'm one of the sweetest little boys that you are going to meet. I'm full grown but I'm not very big. I also walk a little funny (cerebral), hence my name. I do not realize that anything is wrong and I received a clean bill of health.  I'm also extremely handsome with huge green eyes. I get along fine with other kitties, dogs and kids! I'm a cuddle bug that enjoys being with my people. I would be just as happy being your one and only kitty too! I had the life on the streets and I've come to the quick conclusion that it is not for me. A life of love and cuddles is right up my alley! You can be my everything...just in time for Christmas! Love,Tippy If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 29, 2023, 12:23 pm

Story
Meet Zion, a short-haired Russian blue mix female kitten about 6.5 to 7 months old (DOB about 4/1/23). She and her littermates, Smoky and Bryce, are known as the national park kittens.  They were somewhat feral when they were turned into the city shelter but young enough to accept some convincing that the cushy pet life is better.  Still, they will need patience when they move into their forever home, but they are so worth it!  Zion is VERY playful and active.  She loves to play with toys or other cats and is never bored.  She gets along well with other cats, and we think she'd be great with dogs and kids.  She's negative for feline leukemia and aids, had all three distemper and the rabies vaccine, been wormed, had advantage for fleas, and been vet checked, microchipped, and spayed.  If interested in this cutie pie, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net. We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.November 29, 2023, 5:40 pm

Story
FFF got a call about a feral cat who looked super pregnant in a trailer park. The day she was trapped, she had five kittens. These cuties have been around people since the day they were born so theyre very familiar with being held and handled. Theyll be nervous at first being in a new environment, but once they settle in, theyre sure to be great pets!
