Story
To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/adopt Oreo is a one year old 44 pound female McNab/samoyed cross. She literally smiles from ear to ear and wears her heart on her sleeve. She is a highly social people dog and is great in a car and on a leash. She has incredible patience and manners because she has belonged to a homeless man all her life until recently. She is used to waiting and hoping for bigger adventures that have never come for her. She stayed loyal and loving to the homeless man as she grew from puppyhood and didnt know any other life. However, about 5 months ago, the community noticed that both the man and the pup needed help and pleaded for anyone to take her. But no one came for her. There was a point that advocates felt she would be safer at the shelter than she was with the man. And the man agreed as well and begged for someone to come get her from him. Hearts heard the pleas so as soon as she was over a bout of kennel cough they rescued her from the shelter. Oreo tells us she wants a big family who is there for her the way she was loyal to the homeless man. She wants a full time family or as much time as possible. Of course with walks and camping she is a pro but she would love to go to the beach , be on a couch with her family, ride in cars- and more than anything - have an actual permanent roof over her head and a loving family to call home. Currently fostered in Davis, CA. Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Meet Katya, a beautiful 6-month-old Samoyed who is still discovering just how safe and wonderful the world can be. Katya came to us with very little socialization, so new people, dogs, and experiences can feel a bit overwhelming at first. She is a sensitive girl who simply needs time, patience, and gentle encouragement to build her confidence. With her mom, Anya, Katya’s playful and more relaxed side comes out, giving us a glimpse of the happy, curious puppy waiting to emerge. She would likely benefit from having calm, confident dogs in her life who can help show her that new experiences don’t have to be scary. Katya is also just beginning to learn how to walk on leash and will need an adopter who is comfortable taking things slowly and celebrating the little victories along the way. She isn’t a puppy who will immediately bound into every new situation, but for the right person, watching her learn to trust and blossom will be incredibly rewarding. With patience, consistency, and lots of positive experiences, we think this sweet, fluffy girl has all the potential in the world to become a wonderful companion.

Story
Meet Ivan! 🤍 This handsome 2 year old Samoyed is about 32 pounds of pure fluff and has so much love to give. Ivan is currently on a three meal a day plan to help him reach a healthier weight, and little by little, he is making wonderful progress. Ivan is also learning that being on a leash can be a pretty great thing! Since leash walking is still unfamiliar territory for him, he will need a patient and consistent person who can gently guide him as he learns to feel comfortable and confident on walks. He loves being around people and is still learning to fully trust his person, but once he feels safe, his sweet personality really shines. Ivan loves toys, enjoys having something to chew on, and is happiest when he has people nearby. He may need a little extra patience and guidance as he continues to build his confidence, but he is such a loving and enjoyable companion to have around. We can't wait to see him continue to blossom!
