Story
Mister Biggs is the most loyal, loving, and snuggly boy ever. He is great for someone who jogs. I will miss him so much. He was a foster returned by 2 people because he was a lot of energy and too little training. So I did the leash training, treat training, and working with the big Mister to make sure he was housebroken and less reactive. He is an absolute love, with bone and ball affinity, crate and housetrained. He LOVES people. He is good with most other animals as long as he is introduced in a controlled manner. He must be pack-walked before able to openly interact with other dogs above 15 lbs. He must be lovingly introduced to cats but easily understands they are his housemates and siblings. Biggs also has digestive and skin sensitivities. He takes 4-16mg of prescription Apoquel daily as needed, and I add Zyrtec 10mg seasonally. He eats ONLY prescription kibble and treats, Science diet Derm Complete. I learned this the hard way. Call/msg for more info.

Story
Atlas was rescued from the kill list and I’ve homed him for about 1 1/2 years. He’s now about 2 1/2 years old. He’s been socialized at the dog park regularly and extremely playful. I raised him around many kids and a kitten. Due to his high energy and needs he would be best around larger dogs and a yard to run around. He loves the snow, socializing, playing with dogs, and needs alone time in his kennel. Atlas has been living with us at our apartment hoping to move to a home but due to financial hardships we weren’t able to move, unfortunately we had an incident and can no longer keep him here. Please reach out for more information on this.

Story
Note: Special Needs Dog due to Behavior/Shyness. This dog is bonded and must be adopted with Pepe. Are you looking for a gorgeous dog? What about a very shy dog? If you answered yes to both of these questions, Chee Yoo could be the perfect dog for you. Chee Yoo is a beautiful, 5 yo medium/large female dog that came to Jelly's Place from South Korea in July 2021. Why has such a wonderful dog not been adopted yet? Read further to find out. Chee Yoo is very timid and nervous around people. She LOVES other dogs, and has become best friends with another Jelly's dog named Pepe. Pepe has a very similar personality to Chee Yoo and the two of them are like 2 peas in a pod. Chee Yoo can guard her food which is not surprising given where she came from. So, care needs to be taken with another dog when food, especially high value foods, are around. During her time at Jelly's Place, Chee Yoo has gone from hiding in the corner to taking daily walks on a leash. She is becoming more comfortable and confident, but still has a long way to go. She has learned to trust her primary caregiver, but is still not comfortable interacting with other people. Chee Yoo would do best in a calm, quiet home with dog experience and older or no children. Chee Yoo is NOT a dog for first time adopters. She needs adopters who are willing to be patient and to give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable, confident and loved. Another dog in the home is essential. and we prefer to keep Chee Yoo with her buddy Pepe. If you are interested in adopting Chee Yoo, we recommend that you come and spend time with her on several occasions so that she becomes comfortable with you. Chee Yoo is UTD on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Applications are being accepted and qualified applicants will be contacted.

Story
We LOVE Aurora, and we know you will, too! Aurora is just over 2 years old and is a loyal, goofy, and smart girl who has won all of our hearts with her endearing personality. Aurora is the epitome of a big dog who doesn't know her size, and she loves to try to convince you that she is actually a lap dog. She is a very affectionate girl, and she forms strong bonds with her people. Whoever adopts her will always have a happy pup to greet them when they come home. Aurora weighs about 70lbs and is fully grown. Aurora was raised in foster care after she came to us as a tiny baby with her sister. The puppies came into a local shelter as strays with the rest of their litter and their mom when they were only a few weeks old. Once the puppies were weaned, we welcomed Aurora and her sister into one of our foster homes. Aurora's sister was adopted as a puppy, but Aurora has stayed with us since she has some medical needs that needed to be addressed. She is now all ready for adoption and can't wait to find her fur-ever home! Aurora is one of those dogs who light up the room with their fun energy. She is guaranteed to always know how to bring a smile to your face, either by doing something ridiculously funny or planting some kisses on your face. Despite being a husky mix, she is relatively mellow and is happy to spend most of the day chilling at home. She loves her walks, though, and is a great walker who doesn't pull and loves to check out her smells. Aurora can be unsure of new people, but is quick to warm up after taking a walk with a new person. Once she knows you're a friend, you will be her BFF for life! Aurora's foster family has spent lots of time on her training, so she has her basic training down and is a well-mannered girl around the home. Due to her size, she needs a family that has experience with large dogs. Aurora has been raised with small dogs and has done well making new dog friends after a slow introduction. She could do well living with other moderate/low-energy pups, or she would be more than happy to be your one and only. Aurora has been raised with dog-savvy cats. At times, she can be a tad annoying to them, so she would do best with confident dog-savvy cats that wouldn't be overwhelmed by her. Aurora has done well meeting livestock and chickens. She would thrive on a farm! Aurora needs an adult-only home. Aurora is house and crate trained. She is used to free roaming in the home when no one is home, but also does well in her crate for short periods during the day. She is used to sleeping in her crate or on a dog bed in the bedroom at night. Aurora needs a home with a yard and wouldn't be a good fit for apartment life. Aurora was diagnosed with liver shunts as a young puppy. Unfortunately, due to their location, surgical correction isn't an option. However, Aurora has been symptom-free since transitioning to a prescription diet, and her bloodwork shows that her condition is being properly managed with the diet change. She can ONLY eat her food and specific bland treats to avoid any GI and neurological side effects of food high in protein, fat, and sugar. Aurora is happy to eat her food and has no problem with pets and play as reinforcement for good behavior. She will require yearly bloodwork to monitor her condition. Aurora also has a minor heart condition. It requires no treatment at this time, but she will need yearly check-ups with a cardiologist to monitor it. Aurora is such an amazing girl, and we know a wonderful family is out there for her! If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Aurora's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website  (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. March 7, 2026, 9:47 pm
