Hi! I‘m Milo - a 4-year-old Samoyed/Husky mix looking for an experienced owner who‘s ready to match my energy and my needs. I‘m loyal, athletic and I genuinely thrive when I have a person who‘s committed to working with me consistently. I know my commands (sit, down, stop, heel, come, mark/hop etc.) and do well with structured training. I love runs (but only 3-4km), adventures, and being your sidekick - and I’m equally happy winding down on a rainy of good day outside. Where I need the right fit: I‘m reactive to dogs on leash, so I do best in a lower-traffic environment - think spacious yard, quieter neighborhood, or rural/suburban setting without constant dog congestion. You should be someone who‘s had dogs before, be willing to learn or understand that reactivity is manageable (not a flaw), and can offer me consistent calm leadership. If that sounds like your life, I’m ready to be your dog and best friend! I‘m currently in BC, Canada, but can be transported elsewhere in Canada or the continental US.

Milo is a bright, sensitive little dog with a big personality — a 5-year-old, 25-lb American Eskimo who`s smart, playful, and observant. Since being neutered and settling in with his two-person foster family, he`s shown real, measurable progress and more of his goofy, affectionate side. He does well with the resident dog and cat and loves a good chase. He needs an adult-only home with limited visitors and calm, predictable environments. What reads as `stranger aggression` is really overstimulation that amplifies his fear — with calm, low-key introductions, he`s recently let new people pet him with no growling at all. He`s uncomfortable with unfamiliar hands and, while a trusted person can pick him up briefly for quick tasks, he isn`t reliably safe to be picked up otherwise and can`t yet be fully brushed (though he tolerates brushing with a lick mat and distraction). He can be possessive of `treasures,` and vocalizes during play, which can look like defensiveness even when it isn`t. If you`re an experienced adopter who can manage overstimulation, and who wants a small dog with real progress already made, Milo may be your match.
