Story
Meet Strider💙 — the handsome adventure buddy with the best mismatched eyes. Strider is a 7-year-young neutered male with a sweet, playful personality and a truly unforgettable look — he has one blue eye and one brown eye. He’s the kind of dog who will happily join you for a walk, romp around the yard, and then come inside to hang out and be your shadow. Strider is moderate energy: he loves walks, but he’s also totally happy to relax at home and play with you inside. While he’d love a yard to zoom around in, he would also likely do just fine in an apartment as long as he gets daily exercise and enrichment. ✅ Good with other dogs 🚫 Probably not good with cats (he is VERY interested in them) ✅ Great with visitors — he may give a couple soft “boofs,” then settles right in Strider enjoys toys (especially rubber balls) and one of his favorite hobbies is… enthusiastically destroying rubber toys. If you like buying toys and watching your dog have the time of his life? Strider is your guy. He is also neutered and fully vaccinated. Affectionate… with boundaries Strider is a very loving dog — he enjoys pets and snuggles and does well with handling when he approaches you first. He’s happiest when his humans respect his space and let him initiate affection (and once he does, he’s a total sweetheart). Training update Strider is currently working on: Crate training Leash training (he still pulls quite a bit) With consistency and positive reinforcement, he will continue to improve. Important note (please read) Strider does have a bite history. In a previous incident, someone leaned closely over him while he was grooming. Strider seemed got studded with the sudden move bit the person’s face, leaving two punctures. The incident was quick — he released immediately and did not attempt to bite again. Because of this, Strider needs: A home with no children Adults who understand dog body language A home that will be cautious when Strider is grooming himself, sleeping, or chewing bones/toys Strider is not a “bad dog” — he’s a dog who needs the right environment and humans who will respect his boundaries so he can feel safe and successful. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, affectionate best friend who will thrive with structure, respect, and love, Strider may be the perfect match. Currently being cared for in West Sacramento area, Strider can be transported to northern states such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, or other locations within the continental United States, where a loving family awaits to welcome him.

Story
Smooch Summit is exactly who he thinks he is, a dog who makes every ordinary day feel just… better! Equal parts adventure buddy, patio companion, professional lounger, sweet smoocher, and affectionate best friend wrapped in a spectacularly fluffy coat with one brilliant blue eye, one warm brown eye. ALLLL that and a deep conviction that every person deserves at least one of his signature smooches. If you've been dreaming of a dog who can happily join you for life's outings and then quietly relax by your side while looking downright majestic, Smooch is positively dreaming about you too. Go watch Smooch Summit on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this fluffy gentleman. https://youtu.be/vkmZB1rAEQ8 Estimated to be around 5 years old and looking very much like an Alaskan Malamute mix, Smooch weighs about 60 pounds. As with all rescue dogs, his breed and age are simply our best guess, but one thing is unmistakable: this handsome boy was built for cool mornings, misty trails, and evergreen forests. His thick coat and northern-breed spirit are ready to trade scorching summers for cool breezes and shady adventures by your side. Smooch is wonderfully balanced in that rare way so many people are searching for. He enjoys getting out to explore, but he isn't looking to spend every waking moment in motion. Give him about ten minutes of play, a chance to splash in some water, or a nice walk, and he's perfectly content finding a shady spot to stretch out and simply enjoy being with his people. He has a calm confidence about him that makes him incredibly easy company. Pair that with his excellent leash manners, and you have a dog who's ready to accompany you just about anywhere. He's also the kind of dog who makes everyday outings feel effortless. Cafe patio lunch? Count him in. Road trip? You get the door and he can take it from there, hopping in the car like he's been waiting for the invitation all day. No matter where you are headed Smooch rides beautifully in the car and when lunch plans are in order he will settle comfortably while you enjoy a meal, content to relax beside your table without pestering for food or demanding attention. Don’t be fooled though, he will absolutely appreciate a nibble of you chicken if you are feeling stuffed and want to share. The key is, he is respectful, easygoing, and genuinely a joy to have along for the ride. Smooch enjoys the company of other dogs and has proven himself to be a friendly social companion. He especially enjoys playing with female dogs and appreciates friends who understand polite dog communication. Like many mature, well-socialized dogs, he'll let another dog know if they're being a little too enthusiastic or have those puppyish over-the-top antics, but he's not looking for conflict. He simply prefers respectful friendships where everyone can have a good time. Treats are one of the quickest ways to this fluffy fellow's heart, and his affectionate nickname couldn't be more fitting. Smooch believes kisses are meant to be shared generously, and he'll happily sprinkle them throughout your day whenever the opportunity presents itself. Beneath all that magnificent fluff is a deeply loving dog who simply enjoys being close to his people. We think Smooch would be especially happy in a home where cooler temperatures allow him to comfortably enjoy the outdoors throughout the year. Whether that's hiking forest trails, relaxing beside a lake, joining you for coffee on a shaded patio, or simply napping on the porch while a cool breeze rolls through the trees, this handsome boy is perfectly designed for that kind of life. If you've been searching for a loyal companion who knows how to have fun without needing constant entertainment, who can happily accompany you on adventures before settling in beside you for a quiet afternoon, and who just happens to look like a walking cloud with two different-colored eyes, Smooch Summit is ready to make himself right at home by your side. Story
Meet Midnight — the tall, stunning, floppy-eared dreamboat with eyes as warm as melted chocolate and a coat that glows like bronze in the sunshine! 🌙✨ This 3-year-old Malamute/Husky mix (we think!) is basically the canine version of a supermodel… if that supermodel also happened to be a total goofball who loves belly rubs, splashy pool parties, and zooming in circles just for the joy of it. From the moment you meet him, Midnight’s charm is impossible to resist. He’s got that big, easy grin, a tail that never stops wagging, and a “hi, I love you already” kind of energy that makes you instantly fall head over heels. When we met him, he popped his head out the car window just to say hello — tail thumping, eyes sparkling, already making friends before his paws even hit the ground. That’s Midnight in a nutshell: confident, happy, and so full of life. Watch Midnight's personality shine in his video! https://youtu.be/zD5VOftQENw?si=Q2MOviX1hAr6ljAz He’s also seriously affectionate. The minute you crouch down, he leans his whole big body into you for pets and kisses, like he’s trying to soak up every ounce of love you’ll give him (and then some). He’s that perfect mix of adventure dog and cuddle bug — equally thrilled to go on a long hike or flop beside you on the couch like a giant, fuzzy blanket with legs. And when it comes to dog friends? Midnight is an absolute blast. 🎉 He’s super social and loves to play rough-and-rowdy style with his buddies — big bouncy play bows, zooming laps, goofy wrestling, and lots of splashing in the kiddie pool mid-play just because he can. He does great with confident, playful dogs (especially sassy females who can keep up and tell him when to chill). He’s got that big personality that other confident dogs love, and once the play settles, he’s happy to lounge and soak up the vibes. He’s the kind of dog who’d be perfect for someone who loves adventures — hikes, beach trips, park playdates, or just neighborhood strolls where everyone stops to say “wow, he’s gorgeous!” (which, trust us, they will). Despite being part husky, Midnight’s surprisingly quiet — he doesn’t have much to say, he just wags, wiggles, and wins hearts wherever he goes. Midnight would thrive in a home with a yard to romp around in or an active person or family who wants a loyal, silly, handsome sidekick for all their outings. He’d do great with kids and loves being part of the fun. He’s one of those dogs that just fits right into the rhythm of family life — happy to go, happy to stay, as long as he’s got his people and plenty of love. Did we mention how ridiculously good-looking he is? Because truly, this boy could be on the cover of Dog Vogue. His rich brown coat shines in the light, his fur looks like velvet, and his expressive face always looks like he’s smiling. Add in his long legs, fluffy tail, and slightly dorky zoomies, and you’ve got yourself a dog who’s both model material and comedian of the year. Midnight is the total package — stunning, sweet, playful, and full of personality. He’s the kind of dog that turns heads, steals hearts, and makes every day brighter just by being his big, silly, perfect self. 💕 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Meet Charlie — a big-hearted, high-energy companion looking for his perfect home. Charlie is a nearly 100-pound bundle of joy with a playful spirit and an even bigger personality. He thrives on interaction and loves to stay active, making him a great match for someone who enjoys engaging, energetic dogs. Whether it’s playtime, training, or just being by your side, Charlie is happiest when he’s involved. He’s both food- and praise-motivated, which makes him very responsive and eager to learn. Charlie already shows great focus on his handler and enjoys working together, though he can get excited and pull on the leash during walks. With a bit of consistent training, he has all the potential to become a wonderful walking companion. Charlie is a social guy who gets along well with both people and the other dog in the home. He greets new friends with enthusiasm! One important thing to know is that Charlie doesn’t like being left alone for long periods. He is also working on fine-tuning his potty training. Charlie is working with the behavior Team at Hannah to help with these things. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and lively dog who will bring energy and love into your life, Charlie might just be your perfect match! Please call Hannah Pet Hospital at 503-905-5200 and request to speak with our Placement Coordinator, Maggie, to learn more!
