Story
Luka is a 6-year-old Samoyed, he is deeply loved and well-trained. He is housebroken, e-collar trained, and knows commands like sit, stay, down, wait, come, etc. He loves hikes and car rides! Luka does resource guard non-food items (like socks or napkins) and can become reactive if someone tries to take them or get near him. He has bitten in these situations and growls if provoked. However, he does not guard food, toys, or water, and is otherwise a sweet, obedient dog when his triggers are avoided. The e-collar is very effective when he does choose to guard and he is used to wearing it. I have had Luka since he was 8 weeks old and love him deeply, rehoming him is not something I ever thought would have to do. With my current situation and his behaviors, it’s the most responsible option. I am looking for an experienced person who can handle a reactive dog and help him thrive without fear of him being put down. Please reach out and I would love to speak with you more in depth about Luka.

Meet Rocky! Rocky came to us in 2023 as part of a humane case. Rocky is now ready to have a fresh start! Rocky is a big guy with an even bigger personality. This playful fluffball loves nothing more than running around and playing with toys! He loves to chase after stuffies and carry them around. Once he is comfortable with you, Rocky is a ball of love. He loves to roll around and get belly rubs and will bring his toys over to play! Rocky has done well with grooming when done in little bits at a time. He enjoys being outside and has a blast simply sniffing out new smells. Rocky will need to learn some basic commands, and some leash training as he can pull a little. Rocky has lived with other dogs and does well with them. We have noticed he does better with female and more submissive dogs. While at the shelter Rocky has done well with cats but does not do well in a home environment with them. At this time we are recommending he be in a cat-free forever home. We would recommend a home with older children because Rocky spooks easily. Rocky can be a bit cautious of seeing new people, especially men, so he will need a patient home where he can build his confidence when meeting new people!
