Story
Hello! Koda is a pure-bred 8 month old schipperke. My husband and I are no longer able to care for him due to financial issues and we do not have time for him. He is available anytime. He loves to go on walks, runs, and sitting outside. He plays with his toys, loves puzzle games, and chews bones. He has been around my family, my husbands family, and has been on walks around our neighborhood.

Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat or dog. We are open for walk-in adoption visits seven days a week from 10 am-5 pm. NO Appointment needed. Meet Blush — a gentle, loving girl who has truly blossomed right before our eyes. Blush came to us as a stray, and when she first arrived, she was completely shut down and unsure of the world around her. Watching her slowly come out of her shell has been one of the most rewarding things imaginable. Now that she feels safe and comfortable, her confidence has grown so beautifully, and we finally get to see just how happy and special she really is. Blush absolutely loves people and finds so much comfort in being around them. Whether she’s cuddling up beside you, asking for affection, or happily joining in on playtime, she just wants to be loved and included. She is incredibly sweet, playful, and has such a soft, kind nature that makes everyone fall for her. She is also wonderfully dog friendly. In her foster home, Blush has lived with eight other dogs and got along great with every single one of them. She’s even sharing a room with a wild puppy, and her patience and gentle guidance have shown us just how amazing she is. Blush is also known for opening doors and following her humans and can be a door dasher. Blush has a calm, nurturing energy that makes her not only a great companion, but a great teacher for other dogs too. However, Blush is NOT cat friendly. Blush enjoys going on walks, exploring the yard at the shelter, and spending time with the people she trusts. But more than anything, she deserves a forever home where she can continue to thrive and be cherished the way she deserves. Someone out there is truly missing out on an incredible dog. Blush has so much love to give, and we know the family lucky enough to adopt her will wonder how they ever lived without her.

Story
Seraphine is a sweet, 4-year-old, 31-pound Shiba Inu blend with a gentle heart and a curious mind. She can be shy in new situations, but with a little patience and a steady routine, she blossoms. She knows basic commands like “sit,” is house trained, dog-door trained, and very food motivated. She may occasionally develop selective hearing when treats are nearby, but she takes rewards very gently and is eager to learn.Seraphine loves chew toys, stuffed animals, and especially water play. Hoses, splash pads, and kiddie pools are her idea of a perfect day. Her foster home has been helping her practice car rides and leash walking, and she is making great progress.Because she gains confidence from other dogs, Seraphine will need a canine sibling in her forever home. She is a bright, inquisitive girl ready for a patient family who will help her feel safe, loved, and at home.To get started in the process for meeting Seraphine, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, then come by the Adoption Center to meet with an adoption counselor. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
