HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Sweetheart with a young spirit who loves cuddling with her soft blanket- Enjoys running around the yard when she's feeling energetic - Likes playing with soft squeaky toys - Calm, gentle girl who loves to snooze and can sleep through anything, even vacuuming; has favorite nap spots in her foster home, including a rocking chair - Will be a great companion for a family looking for a little couch potato - Uses pet stairs to get on her foster family's bed - Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats (already knows sit!) - Does well on a leash - Likes watching traffic from the front seat on car rides - Foster family says she has been doing well with potty training and is good at letting them know when she needs to go outside, just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule and routine - Foster family says she is good at going in her kennel, but would prefer to be allowed to roam free when you're not home - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her, but she has done well with older kids in her foster home (mature home recommended) - Has done well with cats and other dogs in her foster home, but may take some time to warm up to new dog friends and may prefer some dogs over others; will need to meet any resident dogs prior to adoption- Has sensitive skin and may need time to get used to new people touching her - Likely has allergies (more info at ARL) This pet is considered to be in their senior years and may enjoy calmer activities and environments. They may also have medical or behavior needs related to their age. Click here for tips for making a comfortable life for senior pets. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Red Weight: 33 Age: 9yrs 6mths 3wks
