Story
Falkor is a gentle guy looking for a patient, loving home. He can be a little nervous when meeting new people and needs some time to warm up, but beneath that initial shyness is sweet and kind dog. Even when he feels nervous or scared, his reactions are not unmanageable, he just tries to get away from the person he doesn’t know. He will do best in a calm environment and someone willing to let him build trust at his own pace.
Falkor is potty trained and has basic training, he’s great with kids and dog-friendly; a friendly, confident dog companion could help him feel more comfortable, though he’s also perfectly content on his own. Falkor has come a long way, after being found on the streets of Texas, it took him several months to truly relax and feel secure in his first foster home, but now he is thriving in a peaceful setting.
He’s a low-energy guy who enjoys the simple things in life, especially cozy naps in his bed. He’s not very vocal, except for the occasional protest if someone dares to steal his food 😄. Falkor is looking for a patient adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to blossom into the best boy you could ask for. If you’re willing to go slow and earn his trust, you’ll be rewarded with one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet.
Falkor is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 4/11/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
