Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NJ Luke is a sweet boy who is looking for a fresh start. He is now in a NJ foster home! Meet Luke — we are currently thinking he might have a lot of Schipperke in him! That is odd since they're not all that common, but he sure looks like one! Whatever his DNA says, one thing is certain: this boy is packed with personality. Luke is smart, loyal, and very devoted to his people. He loves having a person to call his own and is eager to please once he knows you’re on his team. He can be a little hesitant at first when meeting new people, but he warms up very quickly. Treats help a lot! Once he warms up, he's very outgoing and loving. We're not completely certain of Luke's age - he may be younger than we were told - his teeth are FANTASTIC. He gets the zoomies, loves to play, and keeps us laughing with his entertaining little character. He has met lots of dogs and is living with 4 right now. He may enjoy having a well-matched canine friend—or being the star of the show himself. He enjoys playing chase with the other dogs in his foster home. He also likes to have ALL the toys and balls to himself, and takes great delight in taking everything out of the toy box. He'll play fetch, too! Luke would thrive with someone who understands and appreciates terriers: someone who enjoys a clever, spirited companion and can give him structure, consistency, and plenty of love. In return, you’ll get a loyal little sidekick who will happily keep life interesting. Luke was adopted for a couple of weeks and his (older) owner decided he was too active for her. He would love a home with lots of activity. He was completely housetrained in his adoptive home, but is marking in his foster home. We think it's because there are other dogs in the home. Smart. Spunky. So loyal. Luke is ready to find his person—could it be you? Luke is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. His adoption donation is $500. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 8, 2026, 9:04 am
