Story
Looking for a dog who will keep you smiling, keep you moving, and make sure everyone knows when someone's at the door? Meet Fez! This handsome 1-year-old American Eskimo cross arrived at the shelter as an unclaimed stray and is more than ready to trade shelter life for a family of his own. While his first week with us included a case of stress-related tummy troubles, he's feeling much better now and is back to being the happy, energetic pup we knew was hiding underneath. Fez is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and happily soaks up all the attention he can get. He's affectionate, friendly, and always excited to be part of the action. At just a year old, he's still learning his manners and has all the enthusiasm you'd expect from a young dog! This little guy is definitely small but mighty. Walks with Fez are currently more of an adventure than a stroll - he pulls enthusiastically and likes to zig-zag his way through the world. Because of this, he'll benefit greatly from positive reinforcement obedience classes to help him develop leash skills, polite manners, and appropriate social skills around both people and other dogs. Fez is an active, intelligent boy who needs more than just a quick walk around the block. Daily exercise, training sessions, enrichment toys, and opportunities to use his brain will help him grow into the wonderful companion we know he can be. One thing you should know about Fez... he has a lot to say! He's quite vocal, and his bark is impressively loud for such a little dog. For that reason, he'd be happiest in a detached home, where he won't have close neighbours sharing his conversations. Fez is bursting with personality, affection, and potential. With a little guidance, consistent training, and an active family to keep up with him, this spirited little guy is sure to become an amazing lifelong companion. If you're ready for a fun-loving best friend who will keep life interesting, Fez is waiting to meet you! Story
Ellana is 5–6 years young, about 12.5 lbs, and a fluffy PomChi with a BIG personality! She has an adorable waddle, signature snaggle tooth, incredibly soft fur and enough sass to keep you laughing. She’s funny, silly, lovable and, once she trusts you, incredibly sweet. This little girl has been through it. Ellana survived a hoarding situation where the house caught fire, was confiscated by animal control, and later found herself at ACS and on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, her story didn’t end there. Today she’s safe, loved and ready for a real home of her own. Ellana takes time to warm up. New people may get barking, side-eye and her best “I’m very intimidating” performance. Give her time and she usually decides you’re okay. Once you’re in her circle, she can be incredibly loving and may end up in your lap! She isn’t aggressive, but she can be a fear-reactor if startled or cornered and has nipped when frightened. She needs an adult-only home with someone patient who understands dog boundaries. Ellana gets along well with dogs and cats. She loves to play but is also the self-appointed mama bear of the group! She supervises, breaks up rowdy play and lets everyone know when it’s nap time. While in Texas, Ellana occasionally displayed a funny mouth movement that looked like a fish breathing out of water. It never bothered her and has never been observed since arriving in Canada. Health update: Ellana had a cancerous mammary tumor removed over a year ago. Her biopsy showed cancer cells, so her long-term prognosis is uncertain. She may have a few more years, or she may surprise us and live many more. She currently has mild arthritis and easily takes pain medication as needed, mostly during very cold winter weather. Her vet is also monitoring an enlarged lymph node on one leg. It may be related to her previous surgery, but currently does not appear concerning. Ellana received her yearly vaccinations in July, including her required booster. Ellana isn’t for everyone—and that’s okay. She needs someone who appreciates a little sass, respects her boundaries and will give her time to feel safe. She’s a good catch. She just needs the right home

Story
Meet Possie (aka Ozzie!) 🐾 A fluffy goofball with a big heart and main-character energy. This 12.5 lb Pomeranian (approx. 6–8 yrs) is full of life — he loves fetch, park time, zoomies, and being part of the action. He’s smart, sensitive, and thrives with routine, structure, and a calm home. Ozzie bonds deeply with his person and prefers to stay close by your side. He can be overwhelmed by noise and new people, so slow introductions and consistency are key. With the right support, he settles in beautifully. Best home 🏡 Quiet, adult-only or older kids, dog-savvy adopter. Could do well with a calm, confident dog. Care ✨ • Special diet • Daily anxiety meds • Regular grooming • Mild collapsed trachea Good to know 🐶 ✔ Good with dogs & cats ✔ House trained ✔ Great on leash ✔ Medium energy ✔ Travels well ⚠️ Vocal & needs slow intros to people Ozzie is loyal, funny, and full of personality. Not for everyone — but for the right person, he’s everything ❤️
