Meet Curly!

Curly is a tenderhearted 1-year-old who weighs just 9 pounds. He is heartworm and Chagas negative... He is shy and I do not think people were very nice to him. He was found on the streets .... He doesn't appear to have a mean bone in his body but makes us corner him to pick him up. He lets us love on him but he always has a worried look on his face. When we are outside with the dogs, he will hang back and watch us or come up and give a nose boop. He wants to trust... I feel he will thrive in a home that is quiet and less chaotic than the rescue. He needs a patient, kind human who will make him feel safe. Curley gets along well with other dogs here at the rescue. 

Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip

Meet Shaggy! Shaggy is a cute little 9½-pound Chihuahua–Terrier mix who came to us from Laredo, Texas, where he had been living in a backyard with several other dogs and was covered in fleas and ticks. When he first arrived at Tracy’s Paws, Shaggy was understandably unsure of people. We don’t believe he had much handling in his previous life, and at first he would curl his lip and give us a bit of a stink-eye. But as the days passed and he realized he was safe, his true personality began to shine through. Underneath that cautious start is a very sweet, gentle little boy. Shaggy is about three to four years old. Because he needs a little time to warm up to new people, we are recommending a home without small children, where he can feel secure and build trust at his own pace. The good news is that Shaggy is heartworm-negative and Chagas-negative, and he is more than ready to trade rescue life for a quiet home of his own. What Shaggy would love most is a soft lap, a patient heart, and a kind home where he can continue to blossom. Moonpedal 🤍 5 years old and 7.4 pounds Miniature poodle Moonpedal is a complete doll baby. The most sensitive little soul. We’ve had her just a few days, and it’s clear she’s been through something. When she first arrived, she didn’t want to be caught in her pen. We let her decompress for a bit, but eventually we had to scoop her up — and even then, she never once tried to bite. Not a snap, not a growl. Just quiet fear. At intake, she sat silently in my lap. No fuss while I vaccinated her. No drama when I had to gently give her prevention. Just stillness. Her little spirit feels so sad right now. She came to us completely matted, so I took a chance and shaved her down myself. And guess what? She has absolutely been groomed before. She stood like a champ. I even shaved her tiny little face. 🥹 Moonpedal doesn’t need chaos. She doesn’t need loud. She needs a soft landing. A calm home. A safe space where she can exhale and learn that she doesn’t have to brace herself anymore. She’s such a baby. And she deserves to feel safe again.
