Story
Trixie loves people and has never met a stranger! She gets along well with cats and dogs of all sizes. She is crate trained, leash trained, enjoys car rides, is good at the vet, and enjoys toys/playing fetch. Trixie does resource guard food and will need to be separated from other animals while eating. She does not guard food or treats from humans. She currently lives with 1 dog, 2 cats, and a toddler who she does great with. She is still young (DOB June 2025) and might jump up on you when excited, but is very treat motivated and with age and consistency, this can be broken. She knows basic commands. Our 12 year old dog has not adjusted well to her. We are having to keep them separate and it is not fair to Trixie at such a young age to not be fully part of a household. She will require grooming appointments. Her coat surprisingly does not mat easily and she can be kept long. Tangled brush out easily. She is groomed in a poodle cut right now but can be kept with a shaggy schnoodle look

Story
Brandy Sue is a 2-3 yr old poodle mix weighing 12#. This sweet innocent girl was brought to Bexar County Animal Care late last year with 22 others in an involuntary surrender. Most were amazingly social. Late Feb Brandy was adopted with another dog from the group. They were great buddies who were constantly playing but both also loved their quiet couch time with their humans as well as sleeping in the bed. Brandy made a couple of early potty accidents in the house. In May her human who walked both of them daily took Mandy on the plane to Atlanta for the Summer. She had the bedroom alone while her mom slept with the cat in another room. The family felt that Brandy, now without her mate, that it would be best to return to rescue. She has done super here since the first hour. She has done with housebreaking. She met all the mob, started playing, explored the yard and quickly remembered to kennel up for meals. She quietly sleeps in my room in a kennel and on command goes straight outside. She does enjoy a good squirrel chase and is quite agile. Brandy is not a cat lover. She will do best in a home with an active family without long hours alone and perhaps with another compatible furry friend. Brandy Sue is spayed, chipped, heartworm negative and vaccinated. Kahlua is an 11-month-old mini poodle weighing 16#. This puppy was purchased from a breeder at 8wk old. After 9 months of dealing with puppy energy and antics the owner surrendered her to rescue for “rehabilitation “ Truly all this smart pup needed was training, boundaries and a name change to begin to understand basic commands. She is all about play with her furry friends. Squirrels are a lot of fun also. She will involve herself with chew toys. She easily goes to her kennel for eating and sleeping. Her housebreaking is going well. She will need leash training. Enrolling her in an organized dog training program would be an excellent idea!. She would do best with another furry friend to pal around with. Kahlua is spayed, microchipped vaccinated and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $350. Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.This guy has been returned to our organization by no fault of his own.  His adopter had to move to an assistant living facility and TITO was not able to relocate with her. Meet TITO, he is a funny and playful 4 year old poodle who weighs 10 pounds and will not get any bigger unless you are guilty of feeding your dog table food!  TITO came to us horrible matted and rescued from the streets of San Antonio, TX in bad shape.  He was so happy to land on a soft bed and was very hungry.  I tried to cut his hair and mats off of him but he could use a really good grooming so you can see what a handsome boy he is. TITO has a playful and easy to lucky personality.  There are no cats in the home so we do not know how he would get along with them. TITO has settled in very well with the other dogs in the foster home.  He plays with big and small but he especially likes hanging around his foster mom, following her from room to room and cuddling with her.  Her gets under her foot when her legs are crossed to scratch his back.  He rubs himself back and forth until she picks him up and gives him a good rubdown, then he is happy. TITO is house-trained, crate-trained and can be left alone in the home without getting in to anything.  He walks well on a leash and rides in the car without getting sick.
