Story
Hooray for beans! Fava, Cannellini, Garbanzo, Lentil and Edamame are all siblings. They were surrendered to the Watsonville Shelter as a result of an accidental litter. They have been shy, but soft and affectionate with staff as they wait for their new homes. We do not require they all get adopted together and anticipate they will adjust well to a variety of homes after bonding with their new family, and may do well with other cats eventually. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Meet Frankie, the medium haired pastel calico! Frankie came into the Shelter with two buds Nagini & Fenrir after their previous guardian had a baby who was fairly allergic to the cats. Although all three cats lived together, they are not required to be adopted together in their next home. Their previous guardian reports that Frankie lived with a newborn, 3 year old and 5 year old child and did well with them. Frankie was described as the most reserved, but still very sweet, of the trio. Our veterinary team has done an examination on Frankie and have observed that she does have some moderate dental calculus and gingivitis. With these conditions and being an older cat, Frankie would thrive with an adopter who will establish a relationship with a veterinarian shortly after adoption and be willing to take her in for more frequent health checks to keep her staying comfortable as she ages. Frankie`s adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind fund” – designed to adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week!
