Meet Kai, the gray and white bicolor cat! Kai came to the Shelter after their previous guardian was unable to continue caring for them. Kai would thrive in a home as the only feline as he has some big feelings about other kitties. Kai has been social with staff and volunteers since his arrival. Kai does have experience as an indoor-outdoor cat but will need management if he is in an area where there are other kitties that he would come in contact with. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Hooray for beans! Fava, Cannellini, Garbanzo, Lentil and Edamame are all siblings. They were surrendered to the Watsonville Shelter as a result of an accidental litter. They have been shy, but soft and affectionate with staff as they wait for their new homes. We do not require they all get adopted together and anticipate they will adjust well to a variety of homes after bonding with their new family, and may do well with other cats eventually. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Story
Meet Pantera! This sweet gal arrived at the Shelter with her two teenager siblings (Puma, and Mitts) as well as her mom Cleo. Pantera is looking for an adoptive home to blossom in. She could be adopted with one of her siblings or as a single kitty! She was primarily indoors in her previous home but would occasionally hang out outside. A home with a similar set up may be a fit for Pantera in the next home, or she may be just as happy as an indoor only kitty! Pantera’s previous guardians described her as friendly, affectionate and liking to be held. They said she would be a little nervous with strangers but warms up with some patience. Pantera’s adoption fees is sponsored by the Bogey Fund - a fund that draws adopter`s eyes towards often overlooked black cats in the ShelterPlease note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. Yucca and Cordyline are a very silly bonded sibling pair. They’re still pretty scared of human touch, but that doesn’t stop them from playing with wand toys and chasing each other around all day! Yucca is the brave brother and accepts, and enjoys pets and attention on his terms. Cordyline is his little shadow, watching intently as he braves this scary, unfamiliar world… she is surely soon to follow. With a lot of patience and love, they will be great companions. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Linus is a beautiful white cat with spots of Orange Tabby. He would be a fantastic addition to another home with a very playful cat or kitten. Linus enjoys spending time out of his kennel here at the shelter, and has been given some time to stretch his long legs. Linus will need higher-than-average mental and physical stimulation in his next home, and would thrive with a cat-savvy adopter. Linus is neutered, and ready to go home same day!
